I hated the puréed phase. I felt the same way. Nothing puréed wanted to go or stay down. Turns out, my sleeve hates purée, to this day I can't do it and I'm 1yr out. I ate a lot of yogurt and vegetarian chili that I pulverized with my teeth during the purée stage to get calories in. You're not alone in this.

I had to stop one of my meds completely because it did not agree with my sleeve at all. I also had to change one of my meds from extended release to the regular kind and take it 2x/day instead of once in the am. No big deal though, it was worth it for the surgery.

Surgery and shark week at the same time

No, it's not a big deal. I started mine right on the operating table. And on the bright side, the pain meds you'll be taking should take care of those pesky menstrual cramps >.< -
My 21 yr old is considering sleeve
fatrosie replied to NMJG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery at age 21 and I'm 1year 2 months out. -110 pounds. I was also a low BMI sleeve at 35 but Apple shaped so it was a higher health risk. Your sons eating habits sound a lot like mine. I've been a vegetarian since I was 9 and really health conscious, but I was eating enough healthy vegetarian food to feed three people at each meal!! The sleeve has been a great tool for me and my only regret at this point was not doing it sooner. I hated exercise and now I see the ability to do it as a gift, since my weight was causing me to have mobility issues. Heck, I have. a career promoting a health club and selling memberships!!! If he's ready to really commit, then he should do it. I love myself for the first time since I can remember. -
My new life is amazing. Physically, of course I'm better. But the mental transformation has myself and everyone around me amazed. I'm a year and 2 months out and wow!! I mean, who ever thought I would make a living selling GYM MEMBERSHIPS ??? I'm a completely new person for the better. My day is typical for a normal person, minus a lot of the food, plus more exercise. I see you posted this in Feb. How did your surgery go??

Kathy, thanks for refreshing this thread! Notified me via email and brought me back to the forum! Update- swallowing still makes my tummy uncomfortable because of the semen's consistency, but my doc said not to worry!

It's slowly getting better. I get about 12 good hours in a day MAX or I'm just pooped. I'm about 4 moths out -
FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
fatrosie replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Feeling really great about this progress so far!!! Highest weight: 264.5 Current weight: 193 VSG: 2-12-13 -
I'm so nervous! My ex was with me through the whole process of me getting sleeved and the recovery. My new guy wasn't there ( oh how I wish he had been there instead) and he didn't meet me until a 60 lb loss. I haven't slept with him yet and I'm so nervous to!!

When I told my new guy, it brought us closer. Turns out he had grown up watching his mom battle obesity and he was just super impressed that I took control of it at a young age. I think you should just tell him. If he doesn't love every bit of you, then he's not the right one. Try not to turn the sleeve into your "deep dark secret". Be proud of it!! You worked hard for it!

Most of the time I'm so happy about being sleeved. I feel fantastic, I'm starting to look hot, I feel more in control, etc. But, once in a while I get sad that I can't go out and act like a normal 21 year old at a party. Mild occasional regrets. Anybody else experience this?
