5 Confessions (Join In)

I confess that: (I'm 1 week out) -i regret this surgery every time I go to the bathroom, if you know what I mean. -I ate more than my measured portion of tomato Soup yesterday (an extra 1/4 cup ish). -the scale this morning is up two pounds and I'm tripping out about it. -I may not be taking my full dosage of psych meds because the pills don't go down anymore. -
Odd liquid experience 6 days out...
fatrosie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love water. So much. But I've been having a lot of trouble drinking it, even small sips seem to hurt. Today while I was out and about I bought an apple juice box, poured a small bit of it into a cup and watered it down (about 5 parts water to 1 part apple juice) and was able to drink all of it without any pain! What is the meaning of this? Anybody? Normal? Not normal? -

Good! I'm glad to know its not just me!! I may stick with this apple juice thing for a while. It's great. Gatorade is good too? Any other good drink suggestions to get fluids in? -

I really don't know because I took a sip of plain water after I took a sip of apple juice water and for some reason the plain water felt so heavy and painful whereas the apple juice water just went down. I dont know if its a taste issue because I <3 water. It's just so weird to me. -

"How the heck do you know my clothing size? Bern sneaking into my house and trying on my dresses?" Probably would have come out of my big mouth at that point -
Omg it was nuts! I got out of the house for the first time postop yesterday. It was just wayyy to beautiful to stay in. Are you from sc too?

Chest pain still bad. Is this mormal?
fatrosie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 7 days out and I'm still having very bad chest pain, especially when I swallow or take a deep breath. Is this normal? Any tips for lessening it? I've been walking, taking Prilosec, and gas x strips. -
It works wraps? Anybody used them?
fatrosie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've got a major fear of surgery and I have tattoos on my hips so I want to battle the loose skin as much as possible. I've heard tell of people who use these body wraps regularly starting right after surgery and try have very little to no sagging skin after their full loss(they also exercised of course). I'm wondering if anybody knows anything about this and has an opinion? Thanks! -
Just found out that my scale is 4 pounds heavy! Which is cool because I'm lighter than I thought but it means I now need a new one. Soooo.... Anybody know of a good scale?
-
Definitely agreed! And I have a nice thick memory foam pillow that I use to press on my stomach especially when I laugh, cough, yawn or do anything using my abdominal muscles. It has been major pain relief, I also use it on my walks around the neighborhood. I think it would be great to have one of those on hand.

I'm right there with you! I'm five days out and having trouble with liquids, especially In my chest. I've notices itty bitty baby sips while sitting straight up go down the best. Also, milk goes down better than other liquids. Hope this helps!

4 days post-op and already 10 lbs lost
fatrosie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And that's 10 lbs since surgery! Its awesome that I've hit my first 10lb milestone but is this too fast? Should I be losing this quickly? -
I'm on one of the biggest culprits for meaningless weight gain, lithium. My psych doctor said that for some reason his patients who get wls don't have the weight gain effects after the surgery, but I don't understand why that would be possible.
-
One of the reasons I needed this surgery was because I'm on a lot of psych meds that just made me fat no matter what I ate. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed this being a complication post op as well. Anybody?

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
fatrosie replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi! I was sleeved a few days ago (2/12/13) and I'm so glad this forum exists! I haven't weighed myself yet because I was planning on doing it weekly. Is that a good idea?
