Was sleeved on March 4. Was in a hurry yesterday morning so I took a small container of premade Jello Pudding, stirred in a scoop of protein powder and ate it in about 5 minutes. Big mistake. Felt overstuffed and nauseous. Had to lay down for about 15 minutes for the feeling to go away. Lesson learned.

Can I crush my chewable vitamins?
JeffNNJ replied to MK1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat Fred, Barney, Wilma, Betty or Bam Bam 2x day. -
Same. Large incision is about 1 1/2" above my belly button and is fading nicely thanks to Mederma 3x day. The other four are tiny and look like mosquito bites that I scratched too much. Almost totally healed.

Can't Eat! Three weeks post op

Oatmeal tends to expand in your stomach. Try switching to something like grits or farina. I think you'll do a lot better. -
Mix Isopure 50/50 with Gatoraide or Vitamin Water. Taste will be fine.

How about protein powder in diet sprite?
JeffNNJ replied to Jenny12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try taking a scoop of protein powder and mixing it with a premade cup of sugar free Jello Pudding. Tastes pretty good, tiny portion and lots of protein. -

Post op march sleevers

Sleeved on March 4 and feel great. Only thing is that I get tired fairly easily. Not sure if it's because i am taking in so few calories or if it's my body recovering from the surgery. -
They're all pretty bad but orange and grape are a bit less bad than the others. I recommend you cut it with Gatoraide or Vitamin Water to vastly improve the taste.

No Drinking with Meals!
JeffNNJ replied to findjoy13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am the same way and have been cheating a bit. I keep a glass of water on the table when I eat and drink just enough to literally wet my mouth. Maybe throughout the entire meal I swallow a couple of thimbles full, if that so I really don't think it's too big a deal. -

Questioning myself on everything! Please Help!
JeffNNJ replied to marlygirly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just don't over eat. It's really pretty simple. Your sleeve will let you know in no uncertain terms when you're full. When that happens, just stop. If you continue, you won't feel very will and will know better next time. Unless you limit your diet to Twinkies (I don't think they even make them anymore) eating 3 meals consisting of 3-4 oz 3X a day and a couple of 2 oz snacks is never going to put weight on you. Chill out and enjoy. I have had refried beans, houmous, pudding spiked with protein powder, protein shakes, nonfat yogurt, etc. Not my first choices but it's only for 2 weeks. Eat every 3 hours and you'll be just fine. Promise. -
I hardly have any Protein HELP

Hard to describe. Vitamin Shoppe sells a single bottle for like $3.50. Worth a shot. -
Me, too. Dr. Schmidt at Hackensack.

Mix 1/2 Isopure with 1/2 Gatoraid or Vitamin Water. Lots of protein, little sugar and it doesn't taste all that bad.

Surgeon didn't put me on a pre op diet so you only imagine what horrors I inflicted upon myself the final two weeks, I measure my weight starting right before surgery. -

Sleeved on the 4th which was a week ago yesterday. Weigh in before surgery was 253 and I am at about 235 right now. One night hospital stay and then pain meds for two days. Started sleeping on my side and belly night 3 so I was a lot more comfortable. Gas pains do suck but chewable Gas-X helps. Just chew the hell out of it before swallowing. First three days, no supplements and felt like crap then I started with chewable multi 2X/day and calcium citrate 2X and feel a lot better. Drinking mostly 1/2 Isopure mixed with 1/2 either Gatoraide or Vitamin Water. Also discovered shrimp bullion cubes. Sounds gross but tasted oh so good to me. Drank about 6 ounces in 1/2 hour today and felt beyond full. Bad idea. Went back to work today. Little tired and sore plus my scars didn't feel all that great rubbing against a dress shirt but it wasn't all that bad. Decided that my first meal is going to be a mashed up banana; something thrilling to look forward to. Don't feel hungry at all. Popping Listerine Breath Strips all day. Glad to see everyone doing so well. -
Best of luck & safe trip.

I was told clear liquids only. Broth or bullion is also okay. Don't think cream soup of any kind was recommended for me until week 3.
