    Ate too much

I usually have papaya enzyme tabs close by in case I need them. Work great in helping speed digestion.

    AM I DOOMED FOR FAILURE?

I had no preop diet so I went absolutely insane eating until midnight before the surgery. You'll be just fine.

    Please be honest...

My surgeon says 2x is fine for caffeine. Usually stick to tea.

    Calcium chews ?

I use Twin Labs Calcium Citrate that I buy online.
  6. Yes! It used to happen to me in the middle of the night. The reflux was tolerable but the metallic taste was truly vile. I would take a Pepcid Complete or two and go back to bed. Has not happened to me for a while though. I think it's fairly common and quite normal.
  7. Good question. Isopure is loaded with protein, is clear and goes down really well. Problem is that it tastes like crap. Try buying a bottle and mixing it with either Gatoraide or Vitamin water. You should be able to tolerate it fairly well and it tastes fairly good.

    This can happen to you!

    Grrrrrrrrrr............
  9. I am not sure of the failure rate here but I really think the percentages are quite small. If you try to eat more than you should, your body will inform you in a not too subtle way. Your chances of success are of course not guaranteed but you have an excellent shot. I think that if you have the surgery and end up gaining your weight back it has to be the result of a concerted effort to do so. Yesterday I had a Subway 3" tuna sub and it felt like I just had a porterhouse. You'll be just fine.

    April 11...soooo ready!

I went crazy eating. Was sleeved 2 1/2 weeks after my initial consultation and probably gained close to 10 lbs before surgery.

    Binge Eating Food Funeral

I was lucky. My first doctor's appointment was Valentines Day and I was sleeved on March 4. I had no pre op diet instructions or restrictions and basically ate everything in sight for those 2 plus weeks. Last meal was a chili dog, onion rings and a vanilla milk shake. I have a pic of it in my phone.

    No pre-op diet?

All they said was no eating after midnight the day before.
  14. Flintstones, a sub lingual B12 that I bought at BJ's .and chewable calcium citrate from drugstore.com via eBay. I think that Bariatric vitamins are all marketing.
  15. You're not supposed to watch basketball until phase 3. Best of luck.

    What vitamins are you on?

Flintstones chewable 2X day, B12 sublingual 2X day. Chewable calcium citrate 500mg, 2X day.

    Dr. Oz

I think he's a windbag. Not to the same degree as Dr. Phil but still a windbag.
  21. JeffNNJ

    What do you eat?

I don't know. I was told all clears for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of purees then semi soft for 2 weeks. Emphasis on high protein, low carbs but with the few calories I am taking in, not sure carbs would negatively affect me. I have a friend who used a different surgeon and was sleeved Tuesday with a BMW more than 10 points higher than me and he is drinking smoothies and going to the gym already. Doesn't sound right to me at all.
  22. You should watch anything with Rob Schneider in it. You won't need to worry about laughing at all.
  23. Mine was under an hour but of course I told him to hurry. Didn't want to miss Judge Judy.
