tannak replied to Evolving's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I got my masters in Texas and it was the same degree program for those interested in working in the schools or wishing to become an LPC! I was only ever interested in working in the schools. -

Awesome job!! What an inspiration!! -
Thanks so much Jerseygirl! You have done so well! We started our Surgery at close to the same weight!! I hope I am as successful as you!! Congratulations!
-
do you feel restriction or do you feel like you could actually eat more if you tried? I am only 2 weeks out and feel like I can eat way more than I should be able to... I never feel pain when I eat and I have never tried to overdue it...but I always make myself stop when I know I have eaten the amount they say to eat even though I know I could eat more if I tried! I am so worried this surgery won't work for me!!

2 wks post op..not eating..just drinking ( not too much energy )
tannak replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 2 weeks post op and feel like I can eat too much! I do feel full but only after about 8 ounces of soup or mushy food. And I feel great..never any pain with eating just a full feeling. I don't know how normal this is when I read everyone elses posts like yours! I am even back to the same level of energy I had pre surgery. I have lost 13 pounds since surgery and 38 pounds total including preop diet so I don't think I am doing to bad that way....I just still worry I can eat to much. I think these mushy foods and soups are going to be sliders for me...I can't wait till I eat more substantial food...I hope I will feel more restriction then! -
I am a week away from my third week and am bracing for the dreaded stall! How long was your stall or did you not have one? I am doing a very unscientific study!! Please share!!!

Sorry I didn't see this post but just asked the same question a moment ago! I am curious too if it has anything to do with going from an all liquid diet to the purged or mushy stage?

Not comparing weightloss to others
tannak replied to amytug's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Is it hard to keep it off with the sleeve? I was hoping it would be easier. I have lost weight plenty of times and always eventually regained it! I was hoping the sleeve would help me maintain , which to me is much harder than losing the weight is! If I could maintain even 60% less of my excess weight for the rest of my life because of this sleeve I will be very happy and feel like this was all worth it! Don't get me wrong though, I do want to get to my goal weight and would love to maintain there if I can! -
Not comparing weightloss to others

I shared this on another thread but thought it fit well here as well! My doctor told me from the beginning that the sleeve is considered a success if we lose 60% of our excess weight! He told me I was going to have to work hard to finish it off and get to goal! I think if we all calculate how much of that 60% we have already lost then the sleeve is doing what it was promised to do for us! I am only 11 days postoperative and I have lost 13 pounds since surgery. That is already 15% of my 60%. That is awesome for only 11 days!! -
My Doctor told me from the beginning that the surgery is considered a success if we lose 60% of our excess weight. And the rest will be due to our hard hard work! For me 60% of the 150 pounds I need to lose is 85 pounds! And I am well on my way to meeting that goal! I know I am going to have to figure out how to make it all the way to my personal goal of 150 on my own!! The sleeve will still continue to be an excellent tool to help me though!!
