    Golf-swing changes

I have been out a few times this year and I have noticed a difference in my swing. I have lost right around 90 lbs so far and the biggest thing I have noticed is that I still tend to swing like I am trying to clear my big gut. The problem is that it is not there anymore so I am swinging outside-in and putting serious side spun on the ball. I have been trying to pull my arms in sooner and has made a big difference in distance and angle. My ball flight is much straighter and I'm getting about 20 more yards in my drives. I am also able to do 9 holes without a cart (working towards 18).
  2. YES! I'm still on Clear Liquids until Monday when I get to move up to puréed. When I have a Popsicle or broth (aka meals) I am not full at all. Luckily I am filling that with making sure to get my liquids in. I can't wait for some Turkey chili!
  3. Sleeved on 2/18, so far so good. Gas pains are starting to go away, just had my first BM (sorry for TMI), and I'm down 11 pounds since Monday. I'm ecstatic that everything has been so good so far, I've only taken 2 Percocet since I left the hospital and that was the first day. I'm walking my dog about 5 mins 3 times a day and I feel great. I'm only getting around 40-50 ounces of liquid in a day though. That's the one thing I need to work on.

    Late to the Party

Well I had my sleeve done at 10 this morning. Hating the catheter that they put in me and my semi-deaf roommate that is in for another surgery and won't stop talking about food. Other than that, it feels like I have done a million sit-ups and my mouth is so dry it's like a desert.
  5. I'm also a 2/18 sleever. Super excited for tomorrow morning! Good luck to you guys.
  6. That should say 2/18
  7. I live in the southeast metro of St. Paul. I am getting my surgery done on Monday (2/18) at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
  8. Ok folks I'm getting down to crunch time. Surgery is Monday at 10am, I officially start my liquid diet today (my surgeon rocks, liquids only 2 days out) but I have been slowly working my way towards liquids only. He isn't requiring I take magnesium citrate, but I am going to anyways, later today. Not really scared just nervous excited. Oh and my birthday is tomorrow, I think I got myself the best present ever.

    BCBS FED

I have BCBS Fed. and it was so easy to get approval. I had a weight loss requirement of 40lbs but that was by my surgeon not the insurance. Their requirements were documented previous weight loss attempts, 3 months of nutritionist visits, and a psych eval. I have my surgery on 2/18 and I started the process on 10/30 so it was that easy.

    Post Sleeve Bucket List :)

    1. Get rid of the seat belt extender in my truck. 2. Play a round of golf without a cart. 3. Not be afraid to take off my shirt at the beach. 4. Play boot hockey with my kids. 5. Go to an amusement park and actually get on the rides.
  11. Hi my name is Josh. I'm almost 36 (birthday is on Sunday) and i figured this year I'd get myself a present. So I'm getting sleeved on the 18th. Yeah I can't go out drinking and have any cake on my birthday, but I'm ok with that.
  12. Hi everyone. I am behind on getting myself involved with the forums but I figure doing it now is better than after my surgery. I guess I'll just go into my story. I have been big most of my life. I'm 6'3" tall, have been since I was 15. Back then I weighed around 200 lbs and was one of the bigger people in my hometown. I joined the Army after high school, actually put on 25 pounds of muscle, but I was in great shape. Got out of the Army, got lazy and the weight ballooned. I am currently at 415lbs, when I first starting meeting with my surgeon and nutritionist I was at 458, he made me lose 40 lbs before giving me a surgery date. I'm getting sleeved on Feb. 18 and I'm nervously excited about it. I have a tremendous support system consisting of my wife (who is the reason I'm on the forum, she's a research nut and thought this might help me with questions) and kids. So that's me, all set to start the next stage of my weight loss journey. Thanks for taking the time to read this and sorry for typing your eyes crossed.
