cattiff replied to Candle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I feel for you I felt that way too all the way up to about a month agoI cant explain it but it just happened one day and now I cannot get enough. That doesn't mean I still don't feel sexy but I think it has finally hit me that I don't care what my DH thinks of how I look I just want it and I want it all the time. Give it time it will happen for you too. -

starting to collect information about LB
cattiff replied to Gwenn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Gwenn, I am 41 today. I love my band! I had my band put in on June 18th of this year and I have lost 61 lbs so far. I have gone from a pant size of 22/24 to a 16/18 depending on style. I was tired of pinning up my pants so they wouldn't fall off so I went shoppin this last Sunday to buy myself some b-day presents and I had so much fun trying on cute clothes. Since I have been wearing clothes that actually fit people at work cannot quit telling me how great I look. I have to be honest, I am a big worry wart. Proably because I was told 2 1/2 yrs ago I had a lung disease and was going to die and then put on an extra 83 lbs from the 4 different steroids I was on and this last May my pulmonary doctor gave the ok to have my surgery. Of course my insurance did not pay even though I had a high BMI and 3 doctors recommending surgery. I did freak out for the 1st month but once I saw the weight loss that went out the window. I would be happy to be your band buddy and asnswer any questions you might have but I am still learning myself so please feel free to ask but also keep researching. I do not feel my band in me but I know now the difference from head hunger and real hunger. I am glad you are looking into this and I wish you the best of luck. Cat -
My doctor told me as long as you get in 20% of protein in your calories a day you should not have any hair loss. Use the website Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople to log your food and it will give you the % of food intake you put in everyday.

I am going for my first fill this afternoon. My doctor's office told me to make sure that you stop eating 3 hours prior to your fill and to eat lite so that there is no food in your pouch for the fill. Good luck. I am nervous as heck ut will see how it goes.

Getting Banded next week!
cattiff replied to jnkntrnk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I was banded on June 18th and it was a fairly simple surgery. I too have a high tolerance to pain. I only too the liquid vicodin 3 times and nothing after that. The gas pain on the other hand was tough....but just remember to walk walk walk when it starts. Also if it gets into your shoulder then you can stand up and move your arms up and down like jumping jacks without the jumping this tends to help pump the gas out. Hope you have a great surgery and see you in bandland soon. Cat -

Kimmom, I felt the same way I was crying too and today I started to freak out as to what did I do but I am soooooooooo glad for this message board because I am realizing that all the emotions we have are normal after all if we didn't have problems in the first place we would have never needed to be here right. I was bande just this last Monday so I guess I still have the effects of the ansthesia. Also Nuresedsd good luck you will be fine. Cat -

cattiff replied to cattiff's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you everybody who has responded....I guess it is the effects of the anesthesia. I wanted the lapband to improve my lung disease so I could be here for my daughter....so I will try to focus on this and when I start to panic and get anxious remember all that you have all siad to me and know that I will be healthier and be here for my daughter....Thanks again for all of you inspiring words. I will continue to read posts here and know that everyone here is like family because you are all so supportive to everyone here. Thanks, Cat -

Congrats to all you new bandsters...I will be joining you in bandland on Monday, June 18th....I am scared to death but excited too...I guess it is the fear of not knowing how I will feel being banded but also having to say goodye to my habit of food. Anyways I know I need to lose weight so I can be healthy for my daughter so I will not chicken out even if they have to pull me out of the car with a crane.....lol I look forward to sharin with you all here and losing weight with all of my June bandster buddies. The real me is in there somewhere and I want her back....
cattiff replied to Roc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Roc, Are you self pay? I work for the school district too but in the district ofc. so I work all yr round. I am self pay and getting banded June 18th. I went in for consult on May 30th and scheduled for surgery after getting approval from my pulmonary doctor on June 1st for the 13th but had to reschedule to the 18th because I ad to make a presentation to the principals. Good luck and see you on the other side. I am very excited one minute and then anxious and nervous the next but I hear it is normal. The main thing is I want to get control of my lung disease and be alive to see my daughter grow up. Good luck. Cat -
