I think it's normal to feel moody you've gone through a lot and it will take sometime to adjust. Get out and walk everyday your mood will change and you will continue to loose weight. Now the hard part starts figuring out what you use food for. You can do this.

    Super bummed

Hang in there I had the same thing happen and I just stayed on top of the staff to their annoyance I'm sure. They made me talk to the psych. Again but for me I was back and forth on the band and sleeve and something got lost in translation when they submitted the code. I'm so glad I have the sleeve! It will happen soon!
  6. Thanks for sharing the article it is good news. If the haters of the comments could process this information correctly they would know that this move will save insurances money in the long run. Speaking of subsidizes, from the comment section, why does our Gov subsidize vegetables and protein so everyone can have access to some healthy food at the price of junk food. Just a thought.
  7. Btw don't worry about the 4 pound loss you still recovering and you body is probable hanging on to everything it can right now.
  8. Oh I'm soooo sorry to hear this! If you can't keep anything down you need to be in the hospital or get a pic line at home for nutrients and fluid. Your not just dehydrated your also lacking protein and nutrients which is not good for each day that goes by. Ask your Dr about your options you should not have to go through this misery so long. What did they think was going to happen after they hydrated you, sent you home when you cant keep much down. They are treating the after affects not the cause. Sorry if this is too preachy i just have been there and want the best for you. Send good thoughts. Hang in there I'm hitting the fast forward button.
  9. So happy to hear your doing a bit better and you were able to sleep through the night! I swear it will alllllllllllllll be so worth it! Do what you can but don't hesitate to call the Dr and know the signs of dehydration. I'm surprised they have not put you on an IV what's the minimum fluid you should take in? Remember nausea is worse when you are dehydrated. Will you dr let you come in to hook up to iV one day (not admit)? My Dr was very conservative when it came to keeping me on the iV which in the long run I'm glad about. Hope you don't mind my advice just want to help if I can. Oh btw I was on the patch and a pill for anti nausea not sure if u r too. Take care and let me know how your doing. If you want to talk message me. I've been there.
  10. Hang in there hon! I know it sucks now and it feels like there is no end to this misery but it will get better soon. Keep the faith! I too had horrible nauseous for over a week and spent 8 days in the hospital. Unfortunately I felt sick as soon as I woke up from surgery (apparently 20% of patients with this procedure will get this complication) and the swallow test the next day did not go well the barium took 45 min to get into my stomach because of swelling (good thing all was good with stomach). Well after the test they sent me back to my room with and esophagus full of barium and that coupled with lots of pain meds and nausea caused me to acerbate and I got pneumonia. Was a good few days of in and out of consciousness. 8 days in the hospital sucked but I was grateful for the iV. On the 8th day I was able to go home and had a pic line (iV for nutrients and fluid) I had to hook up 10 hours a day while I slept and had a home health nurse for a week and then an additional week of just fluids. I was lucky in a way that I could take my time taking in food and liquid and testing the water and did not have to worry about dehydration. I definitely did not think all of this would happen to me but I'm 3 months out, have lost 45#s and can eat and drink about everything. So with this said I believe you will get better and achieve your goals just a rocky start! I too had zophran and a phernergan (one being the patch). How are you doing today? I don't think forcing yourself to eat or drink is going to solve this. My Dr said its like a switch just one day you wont be sick but he also said if I got dehydrated it could bring all the nausea back with a vengeance. If your not better hopefully your Dr can put you on an iV. Sending good thoughts your way!
  11. I also feel like I can eat a lot too. At least a half cup if not more. I'm loosing and don't mind. Also can tolerate a lot of different kinds of food.
  12. Congrats. I've got 7lbs to go! Can't wait!
  13. I get some pretty wicked cravings and have a hard time not giving into them. Like there's a bag of chips in my kitchen and I know where it is. I find my self talk starting to think of ways it's ok to cheat. How do you deal with this. I also find that boredom really brings on the hunger thoughts.
  14. Thank you everyone such great ideas! Really love the frozen grapes, modified nachos and painting nails to stop self!
  15. Can you tell me how you know you are truly hungry and its just not head hunger? I'm having a hard time "feeling" the difference.

    March Sleevers

Whoops I knew I forgot something. Darn it! Surg dat 3/18. I also won't to share that I had complications (about 4 wks) at the start which I'm sure helped with weight loss. I just started working out at the gym this week. We are all doing great. Don't get discouraged its just the beginning of our journey. We haven't even gotten out of town yet! Just you wait!

    Subway?

I had the tuna tonight with veggies just did not eat bread as I'm 5wks out.
  19. I'm 5 weeks out and went back to work this week. I really miss my afternoon naps. Last week I saw my Dr and found my iron was low so I started iron pills and am feeling better. I find if I walk/exercise in the early afternoon/lunchtime it gives me more energy.
  20. I'm amazed at your resilience and am so glad you are here to tell your story. Can i ask what did the Cleveland Clinic Dr determine was the problem? I see they removed the rest of your stomach and you can now eat which is great. I am so sorry this happened to you and look forward to your updates. Try to stay positive. Praying for you.
  21. Yep they change I could not stand fruit punch after surgery and now don't mind it. I've also found my sense of smell is so much stronger.
  22. I'm glad I did it even though I had bad nausea and pneumonia in the hospital for 8 days and home with a Pic line/IV. I'm doing great now, going back to work and can eat just about anything in small amounts (not pasta/bread/rice/lettuce yet). Sleeved on 3/18. I know it's a big decision. Ask yourself can you loose it on your own and keep it off forever. If the answer is no I'd consider this. Also the older one gets the slower the metabolism is and the less food one needs.
  23. I had this problem over a week. See if you can get a patch or zoforan prescriptions from your dr. Good luck.
  24. This sounds like a nightmare I'm so so sorry and am glad your feeling better. I hope the pain is nothing more than healing. Just be careful because my stomach pain was minimal. Prayers and hugs coming your way.
  25. Thanks I found out today in my 3rd week that I did not loose anything this week. Week one and two lose 15lbs.
