  1. I had my surgery at North Shore Medical Center (Salem Hospital) and it is a great program. Alot of after care. There are two surgereons that do it. Dr Buckley and Dr Kastrinakis. I had Dr Kastrinakis. The after care there is really good. There is a monthly meeting and 12 weeks of nutrition and exercise help post surgery.

    Can you start over?

    I am kind of in the same boat as you. I have only been banded for 5 months now and I pb alot of foods. I know some of the times is because I am really hungry and eat too quickly. I sometimes go a long time between eating. I do sometimes choose foods that are not good for me because I know that they will not get stuck and will pass through with ease. I do too want to lose more weight. I have only lost almost 35 pounds. I do not exercise as much as I should, but sometimes my schedule restricts the time to. I feel like I need a good kick in the butt to help me. I know that my surgeon operated on my stomach and not my brain, but I think it is going to take some time to get out of some old habits. We are almost the same size. I am 4'11" and 171 pounds. I hope starting over for you will work and I will try to do the same.

    Junies in Vegas 2008

    Ok, Guys and gals, I have some bad news. I will not be able to join you in Vegas. We are having alot of money trouble and are probably going to file for bankruptcy. I thought I would be able to do this with my tax return but I think my tax return is going to be paying alot of bills that we owe. The most that I have found out for you guys are that staying at the Harrah is the cheapest hotel. The dates I checked was April 7,8,9. I know Danbo needs to be back on the 9th. Good luck everyone.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

    I think I am a slow loser. I haven't lost any weight in the last 6 weeks. I know there is a time where I will plateau and the scale will not move, but this seems really slow. I know my dr told me that is will probably take 3 to 4 years to take all my weight off. I may look like that I have lost alot of weight already. 24 pounds of it was pre and post op diet. After that it has been really slow. I really haven't lost a lot of inches either. I did go down only one size in clothes. I try to walk a few times a weeks but that doesn't always happen.

    Danbo you have done great. I am so jealous of everyone losing. I don't weigh myself. I wait until I go to exercise nutrition class. I went yesterday and I gained a pound. I almost wanted to leave and cry. I know I haven't been exercising alot lately from foot pain. It now hurts from my foot to my shoulder. Spoke to the cardiologist that stops by during exercise class and he told me to talk to him next time I am there if I still have pain. He said shoulder pain can mean something else is going on. Nothing else hurts other than a pain that runs from my foot to my shoulder. I wanted to share something that I learned in nutrition class too. I don't know if you have tried yet. It is Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal. It is really good. It has alot of protein and fiber in it. I usually eat it out of the box for a snack. Some people says it gives them gas from too much of the fiber. I haven't had that problem yet.

    Dawn I was wondering what your bracelet says. I have been thinking about getting one but wasn't really sure what it should say that emergency people would understand what is meant on it. I saw some really cute ones on line to purchase. There not all stainless steele ones any more.

    Well, Captain Dan has brought up the issue about all of us meeting. I have looked up again and it much cheaper to go during the week instead of the weekend. I think if we are going to do this we all need to decided if we want to go and when and how many of us wants to share a room and who doesn't need too. Harrah's seemed to be the cheapest and is mid strip and is on the monorail. I think this is our best bet. It is still available too. Not many of them are. I think most flights for us would be cheaper during the week too.

    I feel like I am a slow loser too. I lost 24 pounds on my pre/post surgery liquid diet. It is very hard to step on the scale and only lose a pound or less a week. Granted I do not exercise a lot. Not all that much time in my day. On my days off I try to get a hour of walking in, but that is only two days a week. My surgeon told me that I am doing a great job. I want more, but don't we all. I have only had two fill and I get a lot of food stuck and probably PB twice a week or more. I am guess it is what I eat. I have a hard time eating breakfast and supper but can eat lunch just fine. I do not journal my food. I have never had even the millions of times I went to weight watchers. It is just not in me to do it. Well off for my walk today. Sorry to ramble on.
