mellorx2 replied to Priscilla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a plus size consignment clothing store about 30 minutes from me. I sell my too large items and purchase lower sizes from the same shop. I have to buy a few new items but not many. -
Leak test at Angeles?
mellorx2 replied to gibson_girl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had to drink about 3 swallows of barium, using a straw while lying down. The liquid was very bitter. I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth as soon as I could. It was not as much to drink as I thought. -
I was sleeved 2 days ago on April 3rd. So far so good. Pain is now controlled with plain tylenol and levisen. Can't get the protein down yet but am able to eat SF popsicles and sip flavored waters. Tried Carnation Instant Breakfast yesterday but was so tight I was miserable after taking only 2 ounces over 45 minutes. Doc said to focus on getting liquids down and then add protein shakes when some of the swelling has lessened. Plan to try protein shake again tomorrow. Have been outside walking 2 times today, little further each time. I am cold all over but it is warm outside, I hear that this being cold can be part of the change that happens pretty quickly post op. Stomach muscles are really sore but not really what I would call pain. I am using the heating pad on my stomach and it helps a lot. I am not hungry at all. Urinating was difficult for the first 24 hours but has gotten much easier once I got home last evening. I did not have a foley catheter in the hospital. Good luck to all April Sleevers that are still waiting for surgery. This isn't so bad and the results will be so worth it!!

Applesauce Pork Loin boneless pork loin roast (about 3 lbs) 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1 cup applesauce 3 tbsp Dijon mustard 1tbsp honey 3 fresh rosemary sprigs Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, brown roast on all sides in oil. Place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Combine applesauce, mustard and honey and spread over roast. Top with rosemary. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 160. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Very moist and delicious. I have also used this same recipe for loin with bone-in.

ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....
mellorx2 replied to mmlucas77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
April 3rd for me!! Start liver shrinking diet on 3/20 for 2 weeks, not looking forward to that. My husband was sleeved on 2/21/13 and is doing great. He is setting a fine example for me. Best wishes and happy "sleeving" to all having April surgeries.
