I did talk to my dieticion, she said I should be able to eat anything that will go down at this point (I am 3 weeks out) She said even bread and meat. It has all gone down fine. She said to eat my protein and veggies first then carbs. I haven't had any problem with anything going down, so I guess it should be fine.

Ok guys, I had solids for the first time today!!! :clap2: I went to a mexican restaraunt and had a Chimi changa with shredde beaf.. it was soooo good! :biggrin1: I had no problem getting it down at all, I did eat only half of it and was full, but, then I had flan as well. So, I overdid it a little, but I was sooo ready for real food! Hang in there... it is worth it~ :bounce:

That's too funny! I actually heard the vanilla was bad! LOL! :biggrin1: That's why I have stuck to the chocolate! I really do love the chocolate, but I might try the vanilla some time! :rose:

I found one at Wal-Mart that tastes really good. I have tried many Protein drinks and this was by far the best! It is called Body Fortress Whey Protein I get the chocolate flavor and add lots of crushed ice and sugar free Chocolate syrup with fat free milk. Put it in the blender for about 2-3 minutes and it tastes like a frappacinno from Star Bucks! Plus it has 46 grams of protein in it! If you try it let me know what you think! Hope that helps!

I know, I think I just really want meat! Pot roast... sub sandwich... cold cuts! I guess I am really ready to start eating meat again! I tried the protein shakes but they aren't getting rid of my craving! I guess I am really wanting to just eat it! :faint:

Thanks for the tips! They will come in handy!

I understand that no one could diagnosis it, I wasn't asking for that. I was asking if anyone else has had this happen since their surgery, or if it is totally unrelated, which it very well could be. I wasn't really asking for someone to diagnosis me on what I have, but thanks for your response anyways.

All sept banders are you up for a challenge?
missy replied to itstime's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My doctor said to not even worry about losing weight during the first 4-6 weeks, until after your first fill. This time is meant for healing. Just consentrate on getting down anything you can and not focus on your weight. Some people even gain weight during this time. That is very normal. Don't worry, after your first fill you will begin to see the weight come off! :car: -
I had my surgery on Sep. 6th, I have felt great so far until the last few days. Around 4-5 pm I start getting sooo tired. It's not like I get up real early or anything like that. I am up by 8-8:30 am. each day, but the last few days I am sooo tired! I have been falling asleep on the couch by 7 pm. I wasn't tired at all when I first had my surgery, but now I am feeling it every day! I don't know what I need to do to help me have some more energy! Please help if any suggestions!:help: Thanks!

Thanks! That is very helpful. That sure makes sense! I will try and up my calories. Hopefully that will work. It is pretty hard to get many calories in when you are only on the liquid phase, which I still am. But, I will try to get more higher calorie liquids!~ :biggrin1: Any suggestions??? Thanks!:car:

Thanks for sharing your fill experience! I am glad to hear that I can eat some before my fill and that hopefully I won't feel like having solid food after. Let's just hope I have the same restriction as you did! -

When do I get 1st fill? Please help me folks!
missy replied to Liz1531's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all, Wendell Edwards, congrats! What a huge difference! You are an inspiration to all of us! I saw your My Space pics, what an amazing story! Thanks for sharing it with all of us. I do have a question though regarding fills. I will be ahving my first fill on Oct. 25th. Are there any restrictions regarding eating before your fill. I know some docs require 1-2 days after to be on liquids, but is there anything before the fill that I need to do. Thanks! -
Thanks for the info! I am glad to hear it is not just me! :waytogo: I guess the best thing to do is just rest in the afternoon that way I won't feel so exausted in the evening! It has been pretty hard to stop and rest with two kids at home though!!! I guess it is something that just has to be done! Thanks!

Hi! I am going to Dr. Ortiz in TJ to get my first fill on Friday, Oct. 26th. I need someone to split the ride over there either for going for surgery or a fill. Let me know ASAP if you are interested! Thanks!

I know, it is very frustrating! I had lots of energy the first week or so and since then I have been sooo tired! I was reading posts about people being really tired right after surgery and I didn't understand why! I had lots of energy right after! :rolleyes But, noe it must all be catching up with me, I am just constantly tired. Before my surgery, I was a total night owl. I could stay awake till midnight or after. Now I am falling asleep before my kids! LOL :omg: I am not sure, maybe it is the protein. I guess I can try geting more in. The problem is how can you get much protein when you are only on liquids??? Thanks for the help though!

I was wondering if we are able to have milk in our cereal since we aren't supposed to have liquid with our food. Would that be the same for that as well? Also, trying to find out how many calories we are supposed to be having for the first 6 weeks or until our first fill? Thanks!

I was soooo nervous before my surgery. I stressed out sooo much! After I had my band (Sep. 6th) I was shocked to see how easy it was and have had almost no complications at all. I am sooo glad I got this done and have never regreted it! Just relax, it will be much easier than you think and when it is all over you will wonder why you didn't have this sooner!!!:car: Good luck!!!
-
Thank you! That is good to know! That would be horrible to not eat cereal ever again! I love cereal and milk. So I will just have to put a little bit of fat free milk on it. :clap2:

Just happened to come across your post and wanted to let you know that I had the same fear (PBing all the time) My sister had her band in July and was throwing up daily for the first month and I was really worried that I would have the same thing. I was banded Sep. 6th and still have not thrown up once! Also, I walked a lot during those first few days and really didn't have any gas pain either. So WALK, WALK, WALK!!! I think it really helps. And really stick to the post op diet, do exactly what it says and you should be fine! Will look forward to seeing how your goes! I was sooo nervous before my surgery, and since I had it, I realized it was no big deal. I have loved my band and never wonder why I did this or have any regrets! Good luck!!!

Hey everyone, I am getting my first fill in TJ with Dr. Ortiz and wanted to share the ride from San Diego to TJ with someone. I am going on Friday Oct. 26th and I am open to the time, so whatever works best for that day is fine! Thanks! Missy
