  1. I am on the pre op diet and am also looking for ideas during those week times of the day. One thing that has worked for me is making a slurpee with crystal light in my bullet with crushed ice and water blended until it's like a slurpee. It is a real treat but more importantly, I am getting my water in and by the time I finish it, usually I am past/over my weak moment.

    Any March Sleevers?

Not sure if you like peanut butter but a teaspoon or two works wonders for me on the texture. Also chopped ice and then blended really well. A bullet or other personal blender works best. Hope that helps.

Then I will keep pulling for you for it to clear soon! Keep me updated. And how cool is it that we are on truly opposite sides of the country!

    Any March Sleevers?

That is because it is "sleevers" not sleepers. Damn autocorrect.

    Any March Sleevers?

At the grocery store tonight, I pass the big scale near the front door and some stick thin chick is complaining to her male companion that "she has gotten so fat". She must weigh 120 lbs soaking wet. Instantaneously, I want to push her off the scale (which I would never do because I am non-violent). then I got happy that my journey will make me less angry that there is a scale at the front of my grocery store. I decided that I need to add "standing on the scale at the grocery store" to my NSG list. My question, can it be added to your NSG list when it, in fact, involves a scale?

Does everyone know about the group "March 2013 sleepers"? You can find groups in the community part of this site.

    MARCH SLEVERS

I'm the 21st assuming I can lose the pre-op weight and my insurance doesn't throw me for a loop.

Reneetrom, I wonder if your name is Renee. My name is Renee too and how cool would that be if we have the same date and name. Let me know.

    Any March Sleevers?

Missfae, I completely understand your thoughts. I just keep telling myself "one day at a time" and it helps. I know I can do this with the support of everyone here. So three cheers for us and stand ready to help bring each other up in the possible down times on this journey.

    Any March Sleevers?

My surgeon said 10 pounds was necessary and that was all he said. The Nut (nutritionist) was the one who told me the diet to follow to get there in the best possible shape and minimize the hunger. But eve she was just making it a strong suggested diet. I asked about drinking coffee and she said it was ok as long as it counted towards my calorie count. Perhaps you could ask your nut to give you some suggestions on how to lose 10 lbs in such a short time? I still don't believe I will be able to do it even following all her instructions. I am such a slow loser.

    What is wrong with me?!

I understand completely! I am trying out my preop diet before I have to do it for real and I wanted to chew my way through the entire fridge tonight. I don't know how I am going to do this. One day at a time.

    Any March Sleevers?

March 21st. I am not telling anyone. Going to be tough but there is so much going on with my family that they wouldn't handle this decision well right now. But I have to do this - for me for once. Right now, my biggest fear is that I won't be able to follow the pre op diet. I am glad this forum is here because its now like I have a whole new circle of friends that I can talk to and where we can share our mutual journey. I have a billion questions and am reading posts like they are a lifeline. Mostly, I am just lecturing myself about taking it one day at a time. I am in Florida and, so far, my insurance approved with no arguments or hassle. Which, of course, means I'm am waiting for "the other shoe to drop" because that part seemed so easy. I only have a really really bad situation with GERDS. Anybody have approval from insurance and then have it taken away? I was 294, first surgeon visiting was 291, I am 289 and praying I can get down to 281 by surgery date.
