  1. Completely normal, It's like esophagus spasms. My dr gave me a med that would help. But even now at three months out I have horrible chest pains if I drink to fast or too much. You will learn your body/sleeve but it might take awhile. Good Luck and congrats on your new journey!

    Surgery

Congrats on your new journey. I was sleeved the end of February and I now feel great. But the gas pains were probably the worst. I took gas-ex at least 3x a day extra strength for about three weeks. It helped so much! Just focus on getting in your liquids, my nut said the fluids are more important than the protein for the first couple weeks! Good luck!
  3. I was at the mall today and oh my Annie Anne's pretzels looked so good....but I knew if I even got one I could only take two bites and be full, so I passed by all the yummy food too! I still have occasional treats like 4-5 almond m&ms instead of half the bag or some sherbet instead of a pint of icecream. It satisfies my sweet tooth. Congrats on your self control
  4. You are so funny, I can't wait to be too skinny (if that ever happen's) but I understand what she means about some people looking sick and withdrawn! I just wish to be healthy and beautiful and not shop in the plus size section anymore

Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it

I know how you feel, I was sleeved 2/26/13 and at first because if the gas n pain, eating/sipping on soups and protien shakes made me ill. But just hang in there girl, you will be able to eat things that "taste" good again. I can now eat almost everything but only 3-5 bites and I'm done. I have lost 50lbs and am loving the changes I see in myself! You will soon appreciate your new sleeve, just hang in there!
  6. Wow that is truly awesome and amazing! You look great!

    Hunger pains

I had a hard deciphering what was hunger and and gas/ healing pains. I thought I was hungry too because my stomach would growl and make strange noises...but when the gas subsided I felt so much better. I'm three months out today and have to force myself to eat because I'm truly not hungry! Good luck and hope it gets better!
  8. So I am three months out on the 26th and doing really well except I feel like I'm internally burning almost every minute. I am on two acid blockers a day also I chew about 6-8 tums everyday....I know all that's probably not that great for me but they help with this horrible heartburn. It doesn't matter what I eat or drink...I'm dying ( a tad dramatic I know) but seriously idk what else to do...ugg!

    Holy Heartburn

Thanks all, I am on protonix 30mg twice a day, I started out taking one but the heartburn was so bad I now take two. I'll have to try those papaya tablets. I've looked up Foods that help acid reflux and things to do...nothing has helped yet. Praying it goes away soon!

    Did anyone smoke after surgery?

I was a smoker and stopped two weeks before hand....I didn't even want to smoke afterward but now that I'm three months out I'm struggling with wanting to start again, especially when I'm around other people that smoke! Good luck on quitting!

    Sex after Sleeve

You'll know when your ready, I waited a week I think...it was a little uncomfortable in my stomach area but my husband took it easy on me for the first couple weeks! You won't even want it for at least a week because of how you'll feel!

    Solids To Early

I think he was just asking if he'd be ok. I'm sure he got all the info from his doctor and knows what to do. It's just sometimes out of habit that we go to eat but then think OMG what did I just eat. It's not just a physical change but it's a mental process change! You'll be ok if there's no pain...just try and mentally think about everything you put in your mouth. Good luck!!!

    Pet Peeve

  20. If I'm at home I have a occasional glass of wine...which one is enough before I start feeling warm n flushed. Yesterday I went to the brewers/cardinals game and I asked my husband to get me something to drink (meaning water, lemonade ect) well he comes back with a 12.00 margarita....seriously, he was being thoughtful so he thought because pre-op I loved them. So I began to sip on it, a hour later I was feeling tipsy...really tipsy! My husband thought it was funny, I'm sure I was funny to watch getting tipsy off ONE MARGARITA!
  21. Just wondering how many weeks or months out before you can drink with your meals. I can't stand not being able to drink with my meals...I'm so thirsty..uggg
