Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)
taurabird replied to Need-a-Sleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, I guess the truth is not as complicated in the long run. I just dont like being the center of gossip, but come to think aboit it. Once I start dropping a lot of weight I will be the center of their gossip anyway. It might as well be on my terms. Okay, decision made. Thank you guys for helping me talk it out. -

I have 2 months to go before my date (june 5th). I havent decided how to handle work. I am a critical care nurse that works on the rapid response team. I really need to tell them because it is a small team but I do want some privacy since everyone in the hospital knows me and sees me every shift. I can picture having to repeat my weight loss stats over and over again each shift and it stresses me out just to think about. -
Once it is healed to prevent new ones there is a product I use that prevent chafing and blisters called "Glide" it looks like a deoderant stick. I put it on anything that reacts bad to friction, including the nether regions where my panties rub me wrong, sometimes when I am working out and sweating it tends to get raw.

Wow, I cant believe you broke the toilet..with your HEAD...I am glad you are okay. On a side note, my husband would never let me live that down or stop laughing (after he knew I was alright of course) -

I have the same problem. I have been experimenting with different kinds of vegan protein powders to see which ones I like. I havent found "the one" yet, still trying to find one that is not sweet flavored. -
@iggy you are so funny! Count another liberal atheist here, I tend to identify as a humanist.

Surgery date! but it is 2 months away.
taurabird replied to taurabird's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was told by the doctor that the sleeve does have more pressure because it fills up volumn wise more than a normal large stomach would on a regular basis. Imagine the fullest you have ever been in your life that is what he described it to be like normally after the sleeve. -

Thank you! Go Juners! Manometry is where the put a thin tube down your esophagus to read the pressures where your stomach meets it to make sure the valve there is strong. I guess some people have a weak valve that doesnt stand up to the pressure of the sleeve and it causes intense acid that cant be stopped. My doctor just does it as a precaution since he had one person that it was so bad he had to convert her to bypass. -
