I went to Whole Foods 2 nights ago for dinner off their hot bar. I mixed 4 of their different soup broths together to make a yummy tomato beef stew vegetable bean thing that was to die for! Yep, I just took the time to take only the broth off these soups. It was so worth it!

i have surgery in the morning and i can not get my ring off! what to.do?
taurabird replied to ladybug71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It depends on the doc and the equipment they are using. They probably will just place tape over it but if you swell up they will cut it off on the side of caution to protect the circulation of your finger. Just talk to them and be upfront about thw issue and it shouldnt be an issue. -

What is/was your pre-op diet? Please share.
taurabird replied to BloomingFaith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
10 days of High protein low carb full liquids with 1 lean meat and low carb veggie/salad per day. Finally day before surgery was sugar free clear liquids only. -
Today is POD 5, I just woke up and started to sip the half full 20 oz bottle of gatorade G2 on my nightstand. I quickly sipped my way through 4 oz then 8 oz and finally I emptied the bottle. That mean I was just able to sip 10 oz of Fluid in about 5 minutes with NO discomfort. Anyone else out there that is kr was able to do this so soon? It kinda has me freaked out a little.

I just made a chia tea concentrate shake with 8oz egg white international pasteurized egg whites, 6oz decaf chia tea concentrate and 6oz unsweetened almond milk. OMG this is so good. That drink gives me 188 cal with 26 gr protein. -
What did your surgeon say when he told you that it was gastritis?

Okay. I must admit my lizard brain went immediately to "oh no, I must be leaking all the drink directly into my abdomen". Your explanation probably is the better conclusion to jump to, oops. Thanks you. -

herniated discs, sciatica and the sleeve-exercise help please!
taurabird replied to oldskoolsooz's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have been doing yoga for a couple years now strickly because of my back. I have old L4-L5 compression fractures and sciatica. The only thing that works is for my to do about 20 minutes of light yoga stretches when I get up in the morning. That resolves the pain and tightness which then allows me to walk, continue to do real yoga moves and do pretty much anything I want with minimal discomfort. The Pilates on a machine idea above sounds like the way to begin if you can afford it. I cant, so I use a yoga stretching video at home every day and then a beginners yoga video for exercise after I am stretched. -

Love the new look including the shorter hair! -
Crushing my zoloft 2 days postop made me sooooo sick and I spit it all up. I have not tried again cause vomiting is the #1 thing we should try to avoid this first month at all costs. That said, the compounding pharmacy is a great idea. I am going to try that!!

Today is POD 4, I switched over to full liquids today! I did good yesterday getting all my fluids in with minor gas and discomfort. Today we went to whole foods store to get soy yogurt and chai tea concentrate. While there my hubby made himself a lunch from their awesome hotbar and I got some of the turkey soup broth with no chunks. Oh boy that was good. I also picked up a small cup of chicken and dumpling soup, I plan on ninja blending it down to a liquid tomorrow..

4 days post up and I am not hungry... AT ALL
taurabird replied to Ana87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here, sleeved June 5th. I am not hungry at all though I am still on phase 1, today is POD 3. In the morning ( POD 4 ) I start on phase 2 full liquids. Today was a good day, I have been able to get my 64 oz of liquids in for the first time so I feel ready to advance to shakes and other full liquids tomorrow. I am amazed at the lack of true hunger, now dont get me wrong....my stomach grumbles, and I have some discomfort when I drink certain fluids like g2 gatorade. Unsweet iced tea seems to sit the best in my sleeve and it feels best when I keep some fluids in it at all times, sip sip sip. I have only had head hunger a few times when a food commercial came on the tv but that passed rather quickly cause I am not actually physically hungry. Good luck to everyone's healing!
