Havent had a sinhle stumbling block other than a stall or two. No vomiting, no having to get used to eating certsin foods. Nothing. I love my sleeve! 43 lbs down, 28 to go!

    Not enough liquids

Thanks guys, but how many ounces am I supposed to be having each day?
  5. I am 3 1/2 months post op. Everything is great except for the fact I am finding it extremely difficult getting all my liquids in. How much am I supposed to have each day? Pre surgery I was a water drinker and could easily drink 48 oz and then have another 20+oz of Diet Coke. But these days I feel like I'm having to choose to eat or drink half the time and eating wins. I think I'm only getting about 30-40 oz between water and Powerade Zero. I'm sure that's not enough, but I just can't seem to drink more than that. Is anyone else having this issue? How do you get it all in????? And I'm not a coffee or tea person so I can't even count that.

    Super slow loser

I'm with ya. I am 3 1/2 months post op and have had many stalls. It's hard, but just remember you aren't gaining and that's a good thing! Maybe you can shock your system with a couple of days of 1000 calories and then go back to your normal calories. I've done that and it works. That and lots and lots of water! Hang in there!

    Specks of blood...

Probably, but best to call the doctor to just ask.
  10. Mine didn't appear to be emptying at all for the first day and a half and then all of a sudden it started getting smaller. Had surgery on a Friday and it was empty by Monday. Didn't hurt at all to take out.
  11. I am 3 1/2 months post op currently. I went on vacation to a wedding exactly 6 weeks post op too. I was nervous, but it wasn't as difficult as you might think. I was on solids, so my choices were endless, but it made me nervous at the same time. I have 3 kids, so we hit McDonalds a few times and I got chicken nuggets and peeled off the fried outer layer and dipped them in sauce. You'll be in San Diego (I live only 45 minutes from there), so you will have Subway around. A lot of the Subways offer soups. If they don't, you can get soup at most restaurants. I also did chili. You can go to any Mexican joint and order refried beans. When we go to Sea World I take a mini ice cooler and pack snacks. You can bring string cheese and all your other go to snacks you like. Just remember to drink, drink, drink! You can also get creative at fast food places. If they offer chili burgers just tell them you'd like the chili as a side. I did that at one of the fast food places on the road. They looked at me funny, but did it. Good luck and have fun! It's not too hot yet.
  12. You sound just like me back when I had my surgery. I am now 3 1/2 months post op, btw. I felt hungry, could drink liquids normally and my doctor told me I could have yogurt, cottage cheese and scrambled eggs right away. I was too scared and waited until 1 week to do the yogurt and cottage cheese. At first I was upset that I didn't feel any different. I wanted restriction (still don't have that and I eat anything and everything now). I wanted to feel different! My recovery was a piece of cake and everyone told me to count my blessings. I do feel my surgeon is amazing and that's why. Now that I am almost 4 months out I have learned when to stop eating and how much is right for my sleeve. I eat just as quickly as I did pre surgery, but much less. I gulp water and have no problems. I chew my food just as I did before and feel exactly as i did pre surgery. I'm sure you will be the same. I've lost 41 lbs, but have recently stalled. . Just be very careful. As many told me on this forum, your new stomach is still in shock and probably a bit numb. Don't overdue it. A little at a time. I could eat 4-5 oz of yogurt with no problems too, but I wouldn't go over that even if you feel like you can because you don't want to stretch the stomach and cause a leak. Just hang in there. You will learn and it will be easy. Good luck with everything!

    Sipping liquids

I was able to start drinking bigger sips and more ounces about 1 week after surgery. From there it just got more and more. I am 3 1/2 months post op now and can chug it if I want to, but I only do a few gulps at a time to make sure I don't stretch my sleeve. . Hope this helps.
