1st,i never said mysleep apnea was gone, i said my snoring had stopped. i could not or should i say would not tolerate that cpap, which is why i chose to have the band to sleeve revision 2nd, i am not knocking the band, everytime i got even the smallest fill my stomach would swell shut to the poing that i couldng even swallow my own saliva, i worked with it for 10years, it was useless to me, and when my insurance said they would pay to.remove it and a revision, i jumped on it. thr band just wasnt for me. 3rd. i went for my one week follow up and gold my surgeon how my snoring had stopped already and he said it typically gets better with weight loss but its most likely be ause i had a lot of scar tissue and adhesions caused from the band that was probably putting pressure on my body, like i said sometimes if i moved a certain way i would catch myself making snorting, snoring like noises while i was awake and moving around, not even in bed. so yes my situation was most likely indirectly caused by the band, if i didnt have the band i would not nave had all thst scar tissue and adhesions. For me personally i feel it was a good thing i had the band removed.

well i was making snorting noises while i was awake and just felt like something was blocking my airway when i moved certain ways. i did not snore like that before the band except while i was pregnant? i think the band was pushing on things and causung this??

what makes someone looks unhealthy after WLS?
klelly1 replied to re14768's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i get a lot of this ..... you arent big enough for weight loss surgery. what should i wait until i have a heart attack. im tired of explaining to people that i have other serious co morbidities that i need to do this for. obviously my insurance company thought i needed this, they approved me on the 1 st attempt and it took them less than a day to approve it! -

Sugar Not What It Cracked Up To Be!

oh man, i can only pray this is how i react to sugar after my sleeve. I am a bakery manager, imagine that! -
so i have my surgery scheduled for the day after thanksgiving. im having my lapband removed and revised the the sleeve. i went for preop testing and tested positive for H pylori. Had to start a round of heavy duty antibiotics and now my surgery might be postponed. :-( Very upsetting. and i am wondering why if its routine to check for this before this type of surgery my doctor waited so long to check me for it? Feeling Furious! anyone out there find out they had hpylori in there preop testing and how long did it take to clear up? (its a bacteria in the stomach that causes infection in the lining of your stomach, my level wasnt very high so the infection must not be that bad )

PrevPac for H Polyri....Disgusting!
klelly1 replied to mswisdom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
just found out yesterday i have hpylori and started on antibiotics today. im allergic to penicillin so they put me on something called pylera. i have to take 3 capsules 4 times per day. i havent had a bad taste yet but ive only been on them one day. now my surgery might be postponed. very upset that they didnt test me earlier so i could have my surgery on time. on the brighter side im glad it was found, now that ive researched it i have had some of the symptoms for a very long time and nobody thought to check me for that. so im glad to be treating it before surgery rather than find it during surgery or after. -
oh believe me I understand all that. My sister had this and almost died. Im just upset that he didnt check for it earlier. Especially since i told them my sister had it quite a few years ago. i will wait however long they tell me i have to wait. it was just a huge let down.

Bands to Sleeves less successful
klelly1 replied to Mid West's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is what happened with me and the band..... i decided to have the band because i was obese. i was obese because i ate way too much food. not because i was a sugar or carb addict. I did not have a sugar and carb addiction before the band. I repeat... too much food too often. After i had the band I had nothing but problems. I could not eat meats, poultry, eggs, vegetables or fruit without it coming right back up. so what does one do eventually, eat what stays down. which is slider foods, sugar, carbs, etc. I am having a revision to the sleeve soon, which my doctor says he has seen way better results for the people that had the band and had problems, and switched to the sleeve. Meanwhile he unfilled my band so I can eat , how how i had missed these healthy foods! So my plan is that when i get the sleeve , I will still eat healthy as I have been since the unfill and i will be restricted to the amounts i can eat and be successful. It sounds like some people dont understand how and why some of us with the failed lapband/self experience ended up on the failing end. Good Luck to all and good luck to me! :-) -

Removing Band and going to Sleeve
klelly1 replied to Mel1976's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
im in the process of getting approved to have a revision from the band to sleeve. hoping to have it done by the end of october, beginning of november. I lost some at first but had problems also. had to have fluid removed because every time i had a fill my stomach would swell shut. left it alone for many many years and now have finally decided it has to come out , and on to the sleeve. Hoping to do it all in one surgery also. good luck to everyone, i am hearing the sleeve is awesome -

klelly1 replied to kidsmom's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
