Revision questions for those who can relate!
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to cyncitygirl's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Your body is telling you that you need more calories! 1000 a day is not excessive at all! If you need more calories to gain strength to work out, then eat! Just make sure you are putting healthy things into your body and good fuel! Use your sleeve like we all should have used our band, eat your calories instead of drinking them. The whole success is to get full on small amounts. if you eat a quarter of a chicken breast, you probably wont be able to fit anything else in! If you eat a couple of sweet fruity yogurts, you may have room left for more.... Just say no to too many high calorie mushy slippy meals and you will find the success that this sleeve was intended to provide! Good luck in your healthy weightloss! -

The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
If you are heading to Mexico, a box of knorr chicken bullion. Very flavorfull and easy on the tummy and you can make it in the coffee pot in your hotel room. The mexico hotels are nice but the broth leaves more than a bit to be desired! -
weight loss stalled
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to hansfull's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At this stage, focus on healing. The weightloss will come later. If you think about all you might have lost pre surg and the bit you lost after it probably adds up to quite a bit. Dont get discouraged when you stall it is very normal. In time, your sleeve with be an awesome tool toward healthy portion control. You didn't gain all the weight in a few months, give your body time to heal and then you will be able to focus on healthy eating and excersize and all the fun things that will be part of your new healthy lifestyle. Good luck in your journey! -

Revision questions for those who can relate!
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to cyncitygirl's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
The way I see it.. if you lose 10 pounds a month, you will be down 120 pounds in a year. That is big weightloss! The people you see losing huge amounts of weight quickly usually have huge amounts to lose. If you are trying to lose 300lbs and you are on a 600 calorie a day diet... of course you are gonna lose more than somebody who is only carrying 250 pounds to begin with. The goal is to get to a healthy weight but losing in a healthy way is also very important. Good luck in your weightloss journey! -
Post-surgery hotel stay and flight back home- what did you eat?
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to scsleever's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I brought bullion cubes and asked the flight attendant for a cup of hot water. Easy peasy! -
Items that Swell in your Stomach?
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to Free2BMe002's topic in Food and Nutrition
Your body will tell you what you can and cannot tolerate. Just make sure when you introduce new foods into your diet that you do them one at a time. That way, if certain things make you feel blocked or bloated you can avoid them for a few months. I tolerate instant oatmeal very well and that was one of the first foods I started eating on my mushy diet. Do an internet search for gastric sleeve diets and you will find so many different opinions. Good luck in your weightloss journey! -

Thank you soooooo much for posting these. I look forward to seeing your scars in a few months and a pic in those shorts without the overhang. How awesome for you to be at a healthy weight and shape. Enjoy your new life! Thanks again so much for sharing! -
What has your doctor told you to eat/or what not to eat over the next year?
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to Johanna1955's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
400 calories a day for a year is downright unhealthy. Heck even your high side of 600 calories and such low carbs should not give you enought strength to take a brisk walk! We all know what we should stay away from, fried foods and the like but be careful and maybe talk to more than one NUT to get a second opinion. Sleeve diets vary so much! Find one that you lose on while maintaining a decent energy level. Good luck in your journey! -

Any good broth/soup base recipes?
FlabBattleInSeattle replied to adoptmom2_3's topic in Liquids (stage 1)
I went to cash an carry and bought a big bottle of liquid Knorr Professional Liquid concentrated chicken flavor base. Then I toss in frozen cauliflower and chopped celery and a pinch of thyme and a pinch of sage. If ya make a big pot, broth for you, chicken veggie soup for family! -
