TOTAL DISBELIEF
Lannie2202 replied to NeverBeTheSameAgain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So happy for you. I am looking forward to hearing about your success! -
Are you taking an acid reducer? I hope you figure it out soon. My only other thought would be anti nausea meds...

My protein shakes are too frothy
Lannie2202 replied to vegasneon's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
If you go to babies r us, cvs, ect they have drops for infant gas relief. Similar to this http://m.mylicon.com/products/infants-mylicondrops I would put a couple drops in my kids bottle after mixing the formula and it dissolves the bubbles.. -
Annoyed...gained three pounds
Lannie2202 replied to varg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained 3 pounds too but I'm only 2.5 weeks out. I have also been working out more and thought maybe you hold onto water while you gaining muscle... Just a theory. Stay off the scale. You will lose in the long run. -
Unable to get protein

I Left My Stomach In Mexicali
Lannie2202 replied to rducharme's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Glad you are doing well! I am also weak at times. I am able to walk for 60min and have been working on getting all of my protein and water. I no longer hungry either and have been eating Greek yogurt and broth. I can do spicy broth too which is nice. -
When I was doing the preop diet my face neck arms broke out. It must have been hives but it looked like little pimples. Getting the Iv for surgery cleared everything up. So more water was my answer

Does anyone have any tips on getting their multivitamin down? My chewable makes me gag for about 30 seconds before my stomach settles. Today I tried yogurt first.... Still didn't go well....

why so many "my journey with so and so in Mexico" posts
Lannie2202 replied to ********'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are taking a big leap of faith traveling to another country to have surgery. I know that for me it helped to read others experiences. It helped put me at ease. When I did arrive, I knew what to expect because of others posts and stories... -
Can someone explain why food items have to be low fat? I'm still on liquids but wondering why low fat?
-
True. I always like to know "why"

I felt weak too the past couple days. I started drinking vitamin water zero and feel stronger today. I may have just been dehydrated. I hope you feel better soon!

My protein shakes are too frothy
Lannie2202 replied to vegasneon's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have yet to do this out of laziness but when my kids were infants we would put a drop of gas drops in their bottle. It would dissolve all of the bubbles. A thought.... -
I just wanted to recommend toddler sippy cups for those newly sleeved. It has been so much easier for me getting liquid down in small amounts
-
I hope it does!

I did send a email to my surgeon, and my pcp said it would be fine... But I have to take cipro 500mg tablet twice per day. It seems huge. Did anyone else get any guidance on taking meds? I had my surgery a week ago if that helps....
-
Huge regret, what have I done? So sad.
Lannie2202 replied to GGJIMENEZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking a ppi? That might help..... Hope you figure it out soon -
NOW it starts to hit
Lannie2202 replied to rducharme's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm doing great. Still working on getting enough protein but I have a good amount of energy and feel good. I don't have to take pain meds anymore and feel pretty normal. Just a little bit of stomach pain where drain was. Surgery was wed!! Hope everyone else is doing well too!! -
Leaving for Mexicali Tomorrow, Am I Missing Anything?
Lannie2202 replied to Rockpaperthinner's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Have a great trip. You'll be in wonderful hands. -
Just an update... Dr Aceves, dr campos, staff, and Almater has been such a good experience. Everything is very well organized, staff is very attentive, and its very clean and modern. I am comforted staying in the hospital for 3 days. I had my surgery on Wednesday. I did get sick from the morphine, but that is expected for me. When I was nauseous or in pain my needs were met immediately. I was able to rest and if you need a sleeping pill just ask. I had my blue dye test yesterday. I had to nap in between drinking. I was mostly afraid of hurting my stomach. Today I had my barium swallow test. It was very cool to see. I took a big gulp and you could see it exiting my stomach. No problems. Hotel lucena was very nice. I was exhausted the first day. i couldnt sleep very well the night before leaving. Try to sleep the night before if you can. It truly will be fine . The van you take to mexicalli is a new Honda minivan. I did have to wait a little at the airport but I just called the number and let them know what I was wearing ect. I did overpack. I have been wearing pjs because I feel more comfortable. As far as pain it does hurt at time. The gas in your stomach and abs is uncomfortable but you can ask for pain meds and walk. I have been trying to stay on top of the pain.. Again just ask. I know we all have taken different paths to get to the same results. This is truly the best for me. Sorry for the rambling but ask if you have any questions! There is a bariatric wing at almater for dr aceves patients. Everyone I talk to has been wonderful and feeling good. It's nice to have this little community to recover with.
