Frozen Yogurt Six days out?
BuffaloCarol replied to kimikat3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ok, here might be another option for you as a fellow Day 6'er. I have put in the blender some skim milk, some crushed ice, Protein powder then I added a packet of Hawiian Punch sf packets or you could use any kind, Mio, etc...give it a whirl, instant protein smoothie, Just remember not to use the straw, then pour some into small containers and put into the FREEZER. When I had my 4 oz one this afternoon, it was just like frozen yogurt. Good luck. I hope to be able to attack creamed Soups, we'll see on Tuesday when I go for my check-up. Carol -

Would you have paid without insurance coverage?
BuffaloCarol replied to Houston17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
here's a question that I haven't seen addressed on the boards yet... My husband was laid off in Jan. 2013. We took Cobra so I could be sleeved on3.25.13, Everything went fine, we are going to cancel our Cobra coverage now because we can't afford 1667.00 for Cobra, plus pay the mortgage, buy food, utilities.... My doctor's admin. assistant told me that everything after the surgery is covered for 90 days. Fellow sleevers, didi you have many blood tests, nutritional visits etc... Thanks, Carol -

All this jello talk, do you think that I can add a dollop of fat free sugar free cool whip on top for addidional flavor? -
Fantastic Job !!!! I'm impressed. How often do you hit the gym, or excercise? Way to go !!!

Try to get as much rest as you can, I was on day four as well, took 3 naps then slept for 10 hours. I think that you are on such a high from coming home, having surgery finally behind you, some meds still in you. Now, that has worn off, you begin to feel everything. I am having a hard time choking down the Protein shakes. sleep well....

Finally sleeved!
BuffaloCarol replied to caramelbaby10181's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I consider myself lucky, my doctor didn't use staples or stitches. He used what he called super glue, so far nothing leaking or anything. I can shower when ever I want to, just with my back to the sprayer. -
FEELING TO GOOD TO BE TRUE
BuffaloCarol replied to JMS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good news indeed. I was sleeved on Monday, and was out of the hospital after 28 hours. Boy, they sure don't let you sleep there. I feel good, over did walking on day 3, so I needed to take a dose of pain meds. Felt groggy after that, yesterday was good, but I find that I am having a hard time now choking down the Protein shakes. Any advice? -
But, I just gotta ask, when everyone here says "gas" what are you referring to? Is is an inside tummy gas? A burpy from your mouth gas? A burpy from your behind kind of gas? I'm going to be sleeved Monday 2/25, just wanting to know what to expect. Ok, you can go back to your giggling now.... Thanks, Carol

ZOINKS, you guys are freaking me out. I had one and only one food funeral and that was 1/2 of a submarine sandwich. I did it with my husband's blessing. I just hope it wasn't too close to surgery which is on Monday. Maybe the miralax will clean that all out. Carol -

On Sunday, South Beach Breakfast, another capful of miralax at noon, then Clear liquids, jello, sf popsicles, Be at the hospital at 7.30 the next morning. I'll be with you all in spirit. Carol -
Question for all you sleevers 6+ months out and more
BuffaloCarol posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Our insurance is due to expire before my 6 month and 12 month check ups. At that time I will be a self pay. Has anyone gone through this? Have you skipped an appointment, what do they look for then? Any other self-payers willing to share would be awesome. Thanks in advance, Carol -

Good luck to you. Hopefully seeing you on the losers bench soon. Carol -
Hey Everyone, Quick question, I am being sleeved Feb. 25, and was wondering about what to wear? I only want to take one outfit, to wear there and then again home. I don't care if everyone sees me in my pajamas, it is a hospital after all. Is is easier to wear a nightgown and robe, or to wear fleece jammie pants and a t-shirt?? I want to pack as light as I can. Or do you just wear the hospital gowns?? Keep bra on, or take it off ?? (Sorry guys if TMI) I plan on bringing my crocs to wear to walk around the hallways with, as I hear that you are up and walking that day or the next. Thanks for your input. Carol
