I am 6 weeks out and my husband and I always decide what to share and then we order one dinner. It is saving crazy amounts of money. He has an Adonis body, so he can eat whatever he wants. Through this surgery, I love him even more than I did before. I eat so little of whatever order, but he still insists on my input on what we eat. -
What got me through, was just the gentle reminder that if I stuck to the pre-op diet, my chances of complications during and after surgery were less. That helped me so much.

Ha ha ha!

I won't hold that against you. I would like him better if my husband wasn't getting ready to lose his job.

A couple weeks ago, 2 of Fred's grandaughters left the compound. Yay! So brave. 1 of them was still in HS, but she turned 18. He has had 3 kids who have left now, and several grandkids. A lot of people around here have a theory that Fred is actually gay. That thought makes me smile. It is tough living here at times, because of him. We have lived here since 1998. That year my daughter went to see the Nutcracker Ballet at our Performing Arts Center. She came home and asked me, "What is a ***?" I cried. Same scenario two years later when my son went with his class. My husband and I were the youth directors at our church for 10 years, and we ran into them frequently. One time at a community event, I was having a hard time finding the church that was sponsoring. It was in the middle of a residential area. I turned around a couple times before I saw WB getting their signs out of their trunks. I parked behind them, waited till they were a few yeards in front of us, then started that way. They led me to the church, where they started getting set up for their protest. I walked up to Shirley Phelps Roper and and said, "I just wanted to thank you." She smiled and said, "I am not not sure why, but you are welcome." I replied, "Well, I couldn't find this place. I drove around and around looking for it, and then I saw you guys. You led me straight here. Without you, I amy never have found it!" She called me a ***** and a ****. That wasn't the first time..and it wasn't the last time. I am always proud of the way Topeka rallies against them. Recently, we had two police officers killed in the line of duty. There were thousands and thousands of people that lined the entire parade route so that the Phelps couldn't protest. The funerals and memorials lasted all day, and there were people working together in shifts taking care of our law enforcement families.

Since Obama is black...I think it would be safe in assuming that she meant anti-Obama.

I have been more even-keeled in moods that ever. My husband and I are dealing with a really stressful situation in that he is an air traffic controller and may be losing his job soon. In feel like I am dealing with it like a champ. I hope you find your happy place. -
Um...your up early and you went to bed late...so did you sleep at all? Ha ha.

I get you on this subject. Totally. I do believe that you are probably getting a little more attention because of the combination of you losing weight and also having a little more confidence. I have always felt beautiful. I know a lot of this is being married to someone who makes me feel beautiful and desired. However, I have a friend who was my age (39) and had never been married or in a serious relationship. One night we went out with a group of friends. She was complaining about how she was little and thin and guys never noticed her. This happened after a guy came to our table and Tried to talk to me. I was overweight by probably 75-80 lbs at the time. Her not getting attention was completely a self confidence issue. If she would walk across the bar and look people in the eye and smile, guys would see her as approachable. Instead she had her head down all the time. Confidence is sexy at any size. So I am guessing you might be rocking your new body, without even knowing what a hottie you are!

I would be careful cheating. Your stomach was just traumatized in a big way. Each surgeon sets their WLS protocol based on how they perform the procedure and how each phase can promote the healing of the stomach and not put the patient at risk for leaks. I am not trying to sound preachy, but be super careful making decisions like this or taking others advice on it, when it goes against your surgeons advice. You have the rest of your life to eat.

You rockstar! You look incredible!

Well, that is the least they could have done!

I was sleeved on 1/28. Have lost 47 lbs so far. 21 lbs in a preop diet.

I wish you the best of luck! I hope it is a quick road to surgery for you.

Child free... Way off topic
NewKristen replied to apricot1119's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't want kids when I was in high school. I was voted the most likely to become President and the most likely to succeed. I wanted college & a career more than anything. After HS grad, I met this amazing blonde boy with blue eyes. He was leaving for the USAF a few months later, but I thought we would would hang out and date till he left. We fell in love, and ran off and eloped 3 days before he left for basic. We were both 18. One year later, we had a little girl, and 19 mo. After that a little boy. I always told people that I didn't have maternal instincts and I had to work twice as hard to be a good mom. Both kids were conceived on BC. My kids were both grown and in college by the time I turned 39! So My husband and i have a lot of great years ahead of us to do whatever we want. I am glad things worked out the way they did, because I am not sure if I would have ever chosen to be a mom in my own. It was an incredible experience and they are the greatest things that ever happened to me. I agree with several other posters...don't let anyone pressure you. Live your life, as there is no road map that leads everyone to a canned life. -
