I had originally made the decision that I was going back to drinking coffee as soon as I could. My surgeon said 2 weeks after surgery. However, before that two weeks was up, I realized how much better I was sleeping at night. I mean I lay down, and sleep straight through the night! Before surgery, I was up 3 times a night! So then I decided to hold off! As far as a pick me up, I don't have anything. Once in awhile I drink a decaf cup of coffee. I think it tricks my my mind a bit. Other than that, I start with a Protein shake!

I was sleeved on 1/28. My total weight loss is 42 lbs, but that does include my pre-op diet.

Huh??? The drama was on pages 1 & 2..since then we have just been having fun!

Mine was a 10 day very low carb diet. Thankfully it wasn't just liquids! It was very specific, but I dropped 20 lbs! So that was a positive. I hope your pre-op diet is easy and awesome!

Oh, ok...I hear ya! Yeah, I was so blown away that she said what she said to me! Ha ha. Ah, good times!

Dang...I meant drea not slimmingdani. Sorry about the confusion. You know at the end of the day, I really think people get way uptight on here over others trying to be friendly or funny. Why is it so easy for people to always assume the worst in one another?

Once upon a time there was a fair maiden who was put on a pre-op diet for 10 days before her VSG. There were only about 10 foods on her approved list of foods to consume. On of those items was pickles. The fair maiden was tickled to death that there was no limit on how many pickles she could eat in any given day. So the diet progressed, and the fair maiden went to the store and purchased a large container of large whole dill pickles! Everyday mid-afternoon she would eat one of those dill pickles. One day when the pre-op diet was working the fair maiden's last nerve, she ate two pickles. One in the afternoon, and one in the evening. After taking the last bite of the second pickle, the fair maiden started feeling an uneasiness in her stomach. Soon she was writhing in pain. After an hour of misery, the fair maiden hurled. Yes, the fair maiden is me. I learned some very valuable lessons that day, like...there is such thing as too many pickles in a day! And dr's allow pickles as a free food on pre-op diet, because it would kill you to consume any more than a 100 calories from them. Finally, I learned that pickles are the devil.

Yeah...the pre-op diet made me depressed! But seriously, I think that is a natural reaction! You are going through a lot mentally! I remember thinking, "why can't I just get myself in control, so I don't have to do anything drastic!" It does get better, though!

My husband always got me candy for V-Day, too. This year he got me lingerie. So basically he bought his own V-Day present. Ha ha.

I am just a month out, so no hair loss yet. In have very thick hair at the moment, but most people would be terrified to see how much I lose in the shower! Ha ha.

I feel like that is a great idea! Then go to medical site posting all your symptoms (loss of appetite, weigh loss, hair loss, etc) but don't tell them that you had VGS! see if they figure it out!

Yeah, I decided on the sleeve because it seemed like the safest, most effective option. I really liked not having the malabsorption part of the surgery that you have with gastric bypass.
