    Merry christmas to me!

Onederland. Congratulations to you. Keep up the good work.
  5. A moisturizing chap stick is so important. Phone charger and extension cord if your charger isn't long enough. I brought my own pillow because I hate hospital pillows. A pillow is also good to use on the ride home to keep between your incisions and the seat belt.
  6. Wennie, Have you asked your doctor and nutritionist what they think? I did not experience any pain from drinking or eating after my surgery. I was 8 weeks out on December 20th. Good luck. Make sure when drinking you are sipping small sips and eating small bites and chewing very well.

    weigh in tomorrow

Nancy, I didn't have anything to clean me out. I had a three day pre-op which was liquids, sugar free Jello and three Protein Shakes a day.

    weigh in tomorrow

Good luck Nancy, Please keep us posted. Each doctor's office is different. After I had my date, I attended a pre- and post-op diet class, got my bloodwork, chest x-ray and ekg done for my surgery. I saw my surgeon one last time prior to surgery to get any remaining questions answered, then showed up at the hospital at the appropriate time for surgery.

  10. Yes, Alex, Susan or VIPs have the ability to make changes to topics. In this instance I found out what the OP wanted to have changed and sent a message to Laura-Ven who made the requested change.

    :(

Part of it is head hunger and that's where the will power comes in. We are used to eating and not needing a reason to eat. I found myself cutting up banana slices for my grand children the first week after surgery, and found myself almost eating them. At this time I was on Clear liquids. I try to be conscious about what I am eating and why. Try to keep yourself busy when the urges hit by drinking and sipping slowly, walking or doing some other activity that does not involve food. I hope that the good eating habits I am working on become automatic for me. I feel I will always have to be watching or my old habits will sneak back in. Good luck
  12. You posted the same thing in a separate thread. I have asked the host of this forum to merge the topics into one thread or delete the duplicate thread. http://www.bariatric...-surgery-story/

30-Ab Crunch Challenge. Who's With Me?

Here is a thread I started last night on 2014 New Year's resolutions. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/291871-2014-new-years-resolution/
  14. I like Premier ready made shakes. No funky after taste. I added sugar free flavored syrups by Davinci and Toriani to the vanilla flavor and chocolate for variety.

    Water!

If you are drinking cold Water, try warm. Try chicken broth if water doesn't work. Add flavor drops to the water. Drink G2. It is very important to be hydrated at this time, or you could end up with dehydration. If you are on full liquids, try no sugar added hot cocoa, skim or 1% milk, decaf tea or coffee. Good luck.

  19. Hi Becca and welcome to Bariatric Pal, Congratulations on your surgery. Here is the url for the December sleever forum. http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/679-december-2013-sleevers/ and two threads http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/266150-december-sleevers/ http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/289778-december-2013-sleevers-this-is-our-month-are-yall-ready/page-17#entry3289359 I am not sure how many people in this group are revision patients. I am a band to sleeve revision in one procedure. I had my surgery on 10/25/13.

    Lovenox....YIKES!

I am not sure if I received lovenox while I was in the hospital. I know I received shots administered by nurses while I was in the hospital to prevent blood clots. It is something my doctor orders for all his patients. The shots left bruises for a couple weeks post-op and didn't hurt.

    TMJ Pain

Unfortunately, mine acts up when I am at work and can't wear my guard. I have put it in when I get home from work and wear it on the weekends. I'll see what the oral surgeon says.
  23. Mary, I have quit following this topic. It seems I can't say anything right in this thread without offending or upsetting the OP. If you post struggles, you are going to get people's opinions. It isn't always what you want to hear. I am glad you are back on track.
