Hi, I am wondering if anyone else suffers from TMJ. I have a mouth guard which I wear at night and wake up the next morning usually without any pain. By the end of my work day my jaw is killing me, ear pain and I have a major headache. I take 2 hydrocodone for the pain and it doesn't even touch it. The pain at times is so bad it hurts to chew. I am going to see an oral surgeon in early January. Does anyone have any suggestions, or if you suffer from it, what has helped you? Thanks in advance.

Shopping list for the hospital etc.

Bella, The hospitals will not let you bring in any of your own prescriptions or OTC products like gas-x strips. Ask your surgeon for a PPI while in the hospital. -
Take THAT! Christmas!

Congrats on being overweight. Just sounds so wrong even on a wls forum. I hope you get your ankle checked out, and SS -- she and everyone else has broke their ass since they are cracked. Sorry couldn't help my warped sense of humor. -
Congratulations on getting your date. The time will go quickly and then you'll be on the other side. New Year and new you.

How do i make my protein shake taste better?
ribearty replied to Phillyphan's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
You could add different flavored sugar-free syrups to it. Torani and Davinci both make them. You could also buy a different flavor or mix vanilla with the strawberry to cut down the strawberry flavor. My go to shakes were Premier ready made chocolate and Vanilla. I would add caramel and PB2 to chocolate and pumpkin or some other flavor to vanilla. -
Really? did you request the card? I never heard of such a thing lol. I wonder if my bariatric office would give me a card? It is at the restaurant's discretion to accept the card if you have one, and as others have said the kid's menu normally does not offer the most healthy options.

Sometimes a food does not agree with you the first time you try it, and then have it a week later with no problem at all.

Make sure you are chewing everything to the consistency of toothpaste. You may still have some swelling which is causing the problem. I would definitely contact my doctor's office to let them know.

So far my husband and I have split an entree. We just tell the server we are splitting whatever the menu item is. No one has given us any problem. If he ordered something I didn't like or couldn't have, I would order my own entree and eat leftovers or my son could eat it.

Congratulations. You look fantastic. Keep up the good work. Most times when you hear someone say they lost their ass it's not a good thing, but in this instance it is a very good thing. -
2014 weight loss commercials.........bye bye!

2014 will be the last year that I will make lose weight my New Year's resolution. -
Probably gonna tick some people off.......lol

This thread has certainly meandered all over the place. What scares me the most is when people eat foods too soon before they are healed and try to push the limits of the sleeve. It really makes me wonder why they would even be willing to take the risk of jeopardizing their surgery or themselves. The most important thing you can do for yourself to be successful is follow the plan your doctor and nutritionist have laid out for you. -
I wonder how many calories he burns doing this? I read he started doing this because he was injured and could no loner run, and it allowed him to get exercise. I found his work to be truly amazing. I hope you enjoy. http://www.viralnova.com/simon-beck-snow-art/

Jean, I don't chew gum, hard candy or ice. Don't bite my nails. I am not even aware I am clenching my teeth or jaw. I have bitten my tongue a few times not sure if it is related. I had a two hour massage and had this area worked on and when I yawn it still hurts. I am on vacation right now so I don't think it's stress or work related. I also make sure to not prop my chin on my arms and I don't eat nuts not cleared for them yet. Just driving me crazy.

I shouldn't have watched the video

It's perfectly normal to be nervous. This is a big undertaking and a lot of unknowns since you haven't had surgery. I'm sure you're worried about how much pain you'll have, and wondering will it work for me since I have tried so many other diets?. I had heard horrible things about the leak test from this site. It was not nearly bad as I imagined. Please let us know how you're doing after surgery. I hope you have as painless as possible recovery and congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Good luck. -
Nancy, Glad to hear it. Keep up the good work. We are all here to help each other.

Right now at your stage the most important thing is to stay hydrated. For some people, warm liquids work better than cold or room temperature. I was fortunate that I could do everything from the beginning. Congratulations on your surgery, and hope your recovery goes well.
