  1. I was sleeved 1/31/13, and I've gone from 290 to 210. During that time, I've lost lots of muscle mass. I'm feeling weaker, and I'm having a hard time recovering from my workouts. I'm currently taking in 80 grams of Protein a day along with 64 oz of fluids. I just started making it to the point that I'm hitting both those numbers in a day, and it is work to do that!!! I'm lifting weights and running, but later in the evenings, my knees are in constant pain. I have trouble relaxing at times, no matter how tired I am. My legs are constantly sore. I've always been active, so I thought dropping al this weight would have helped. But my post-workout recovery has been terrible. I've even tried taking a week off, but still suffer the same issues. Does this sound familiar to anyone? If so, what helps?

    Recovery after workouts

Yea, I'm scaling it back. The P90X, I knew it was going to be tough. I have done it in the past, but after my first workout, my numbers were almost cut in half. I also have a herniated disc in my neck, and a bad lower back. I now have the mindset to take all workouts a little easier and focus more on form rather than lifting more and more. So I stopped with the P90X. Bought some Bowflex dumbbells and a bench, and now that's my weight training along with a pull up/dip station.

As for all my bloodwork, it's been normal as of now. I go back later next month for more bloodwork. I'm regular with all supplements and Vitamins. I was doing P90X for about 6 weeks. I read that I may have been overdoing it. I was feeling weak, tired, soreness, and dealing with insomnia. Even at 290lbs, I was active. Running, walking, ellipticals, and weights. Right now I'm dealing with some joint pain and leg fatigue/soreness. I don't run everyday. I mix my cardio between running, heavy bags, rowing, and I'm about to incorporate battle ropes. My work schedule can be someone hectic, so I do weights 6 days a week...one muscle per day along with a brief cardio workout. Cardio will last about 15-30 minutes a day. I'm guessing its just a shock to my system. I want to try upping my Protein intake, but I'm afraid I'll miss out in fluids. My NUT told me not incorporate Water based Proteins drinks as part of my Fluid intake. So it's been a struggle to get both in. I try like hell to get 80g of protein and 64oz of fluid. I was also considering testosterone boosters to help with recovery.
  5. I was sleeved on 1/31/13, I've gone from 288 to 234. Around 3 weeks ago, when I hit 235, I had some concern. Anytime I've tried to diet in the past, this is about the weight I've hit that plateau before falling off and regaining all my weight back. Are these long stalls normal?
  6. Well my stall ended this week! Went from 234 to 228! I'm feeling really good about breaking into the 220's! I don't shake things up, I just kept doing what I've been doing.

  8. Anyone here not lose tons of hair? I'm a 32 yet old male, and I've been growing my hair for the past year. My NUT and Dr told me I shouldn't lose lots of hair. I get all my vitamins and proteins, but I'm starting to worry about my hair! I don't want to have to start the growing process all over! Lol! I also take biotin daily.
  9. I'm 4 weeks post-op, and I'll be attending a bachelor party. It's going to be pretty tame, just doing some fishing. My nutritionist doesn't recommend (based on empty calories), but I'm just wondering when everyone else tried their first taste of alcohol post-op? Before my surgery, I loved whiskeys and darker beers. I won't be touching beer, but I still have quite an extensive collection of whiskeys! Has anyone tried whiskey?
  10. I'll definitely let everyone know how I do! I'll only partake in it once I've fulfilled my quota on proteins, and fluids!
  11. I'll be 5 1/2 weeks for the party. Was thinking of diluting whiskey with water or just bring wine. I want to do it at home first, so my wife can take care of me if needed! Lol!!! She's a nurse!
  12. Two weeks post op, I hit my first wall. I've lost 28lbs since I started my pre op diet. I know it's expected in the process, but when did you hit that first wall?
  13. I'm 7 days post sleeve surgery (surgery date 1/31/13). I've been heavy all my life, but was always pretty athletic and held it together well. I'm roughly 6ft tall, and over the past couple of months, I went from 240lbs to 290lbs with the help of food, and some bad discs in my neck and back. So I decided to start looking around for alternatives for weight loss due to high BP and bad neck and back problems. Fast forward to today. Each day I experience a few different things...pains in my sides, extreme tenderness in one incision, extreme bloating, and now explosive gas and diarrhea (I know, TMI). I get extreme pains in the substernal area. I'm probably just paranoid, but mentally I feel like I did the right thing for my health, but I am very nervous about each little change. I know I'm only 7 days, but I guess I'm just looking for some comfort.
  14. Thanks guys...I have a follow up on the 13th. So hopefully things are as expected.
