Hi All, I've been reading this thread and really want a body bugg. I've seen quite a few on ebay....should I buy a used one?
-
Fenton, I do keep a journal online, and I put every single thing in the journal. So that's how I know I havent went over 900 calories per day. With my workout, my net calorie intake is about 400-500. When I reviewed my journal today I noticed that there is alot of sodium intake. I drink a lot of Fluid...protein drinks, slim fast, and water is what I take in for fluids. May sound funny, but I cant stomach yogurt, and I've tried to puree something as simple as chicken noodle soup and gaged. Before the surgery, I was considered a picky eater. Just so happen that the things I ate were high in fat, carbs, cholestoral, etc. P.S. Yes I'm sick of those fricken mashed potatoes, but they are the only thing that doesnt give me nausea.

Hi All, My name is JoVonda and I am 27. I'm a High School Spanish teacher. I have a DH who I've been married to for 3 1/2 years now. We have a 2 year old son, who is the love of our lives. I have over 150 pounds to loose to get to my goal weight of 180. I'm scared of what I will look like at 180 for I've been overweight all my life. I dont know what it's like to be small as an adult. I look forward to it though. I'm doing this so I dont get any health issues and to live a long life for my child and any future children we decide to have.

Why Aren't You Losing Weight?
JDUB0414 replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I with you on that. I'm so afraid that I will be the one that will have to get it replaced or something like that. -
Well shamrocks, I need some help. I'm 17 days post op and it feels like longer. I'm still on mushies and want to eat regular food so bad. I've done my fair share of cheating. Mine isn't candy, but it's a fench fry here and a chip there. Yesterday, I stopped and got 2 white castle cheeseburgers, but only ate a half of one, because I started to feel bad. As far as restriction, I dont think I have any. I think I'm to the point to where I just stop eating because I know I'm not supposed to eat a lot. I'm not a cooker, so the only thing I've been eating for mushies other than Soup is mashed potatoes. I eat them once a day, then I snack on 2% cheese and saltine crackers. This is probably why I've gained 5 pounds. I've finally gotten my Vitamin intake and Protein intake down. Still eating under 900 calories a day. Since I've been walking for my workout, that makes me net any where from 300-500 calories. I'm trying not to get depressed. I think once I'm able to eat regular food...like meat and salad, I will be able to loose weight again. I am really looking into buying the body bugg. I'm gonna try to get it off ebay.

lbs2go, I was too banded on the 19th and have gained some weight since being put on mushies. I am worried, but I keep hearing that it will soon end and we will start to loose weight again.

Why Aren't You Losing Weight?

Cindy, did you gain weight when you started on mushies? I am two weeks out. The first week I lost 20 pounds, since I've started mushies, I've gained 5 pounds. I've been working out everyday, and my calorie intake is about 800 calories per day, but that's without subtracting the workout. -
Amanda and Harley, you are so brave. I dont think I'm there yet. Ive been working out like crazy and people are starting to notice my weight loss, but I havent. Since I gained weight after starting mushies, I'm scared to get on the scale. I've been walking alot, so maybe that will help. Has anyone thought about buying the bodybugg? I really want it, but dont want to pay $400.

I'm doing good. I've been on mushies this week and have gained some weight back. tomorrow will be two weeks and I've worked out here and there. I will start a everyday routine tomorrow to see if that will help. I called again today and said I have to resubmit without the appeal letter as a brand new and he should be approved then. So our nurse at the weight loss center said she will send it out again today. Fingers crossed.

I was able to walk around the mall Saturday for about 2-3 hours and not once did I feel like I had to sit down. Before, everytime I went into a store, I felt like I had to sitdown. -
Thanks lonestar, looks like you should be a shrinking shamrock, have you visited over there yet.

Congrats NeNe, We got another denial letter for my husband. It says even though they require only 2 years of weight history, they still need 2005. They have 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008. We've called numerous times and everyone I talked to says that it doesnt make sense that we got denied, but there's no one we can talk to inorder to find out why. They recommend that we appeal again. I dont know what to do and I'm sick of these people.

Well yesterday was very bad for me. First day I've actually eaten food. I started with scrambled eggs with cheese. Only had about half of the egg until I was full. My girlfreind is in town, so we all went to the mall and walked about pushing our strollers. Walked around for about 2-3 hours and wasnt tired. While they were sitting, I was standing. They kept asking me if I was tired, but I wasnt. Finally decided I need to eat something else. I ordered a cup of chiken soup from the Quiznos. I had the broth and a few noodles. Still hungary, so I ate half of a chicken nugget, I had bought my son. I drank a box apple juice, and some water. Later that day we had to go to a family banquet and a party later that night. At the banquet, I had half of a piece of catfish, some greenbeans, and some banana pudding. It was all so good. I didnt feel like I had any restriction and it scared the hell out of me. About 5 hours later, I was at a club for my freinds bday party and had some more greenbeans, a few tables spoons of lasagna and some cranberry juice. I danced all night and felt fine. Woke up this morning and weighed myself and have gained 3 pounds. I'm scared to eat anything today, but most of all, I feel like I will never be able to go out and control my urge.

lfsalot, thats cool. My freinds tell me I laugh to much, so it looks like we have that in common too. -
Good luck to all the bandsters today. I will be praying for you. Today is one week post op for me and I'm feeling 100 times better than last week. I tried a new source of protein so I'm excited about that since I was having trouble getting my protein in.

Share with us your surgery date and loses since.... I was banded on 3/19/08 and loss to date is 19 pounds. I haven't weighed myself today. I'm gonna just do a once a week weigh for now on. Ups? Today I feel is the first up. Today is the first day where other than my sinus infection, my body feels good. No cramps so far, no gas, no pain from stiches. I'm getting those taken out today. Downs?Getting down my Protein and liquid. It's been very hard to get it down, due to gas, I always feel full. I went to work Monday and Tuesday and felt like crap and my students could tell. So I took off today. Maybe that's why I feel better. Things we should stock up on? I just tried the unjury for the first time and the strawberry pack was great. There is really no real taste and for 8 oz-20g of protein is great. I've been trying to drink those Isopures, haven't finished one yet. I'm still confused about my Vitamins, so I will ask the doctor about those today. -
Hello fellow march bandsters!!! I came back home yesterday from the hospital. Felt good about leaving the hospital. Havent had too much pain. No shoulder pain from the gas!!! thank god!!! but I do have gas pain. I walked alot as soon as I was able to at the hospital. Today so far I've done 10 minutes on the treadmill. I've been having trouble getting up and sitting down too. Sleeping in the recliner is wonderful. I've been getting some back pain in the center...like someone punched me in the chest and it went straight through to my back. About an hour ago, i for the first time wanted to eat something, so I had about 3oz. of chicken broth, a vitamin, and a jello cup that I'm still working on. I cant wait for my staples to come out, maybe there will be less pain.
-
Weird, I've been doing that all today. I dont have much of an appetite either.
-
I'm so happy for everyone!!! Goodluck and well wishes to those who had your surgery yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I'm two days away and am getting a little nervous. I think it's because I havent bought anything for post op. I'm broke so that's the reason for that.
