pankration posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all, I have diabetic gastroparesis and am having VSG surgery in the next 2-4 weeks. Have any of you had this condition and if so, what kind of improvement did you see after surgery? Thank you, Jay -

Gastroparesis- Improvement after surgery?
pankration replied to pankration's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6.5 months out since surgery and have not ever had one symptom of gastroparesis since surgery. Life is good. Cured. -
Congrats! I really enjoyed my time at MI Doctor Hospital.

Hello All. Today marks my 5th week completed, post op. I have only lost 4-5lbs in the last week and nothing in the last week. I am frustrated. Did anyone go through something similar in the same time period. I have always failed diets so my natural inclination is to think that I am going to fail at this. I am down 26-27lbs post op, however.

My poor experience with A Lighter Me
pankration replied to dawndenise's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went through A Lighter Me and had an excellent experience. My coordinator was Janese and she would respond to my emails at 11pm at night. She was amazing. In fact she has checked in since the surgery to see how I was doing. My surgeon was Dr. Lopez and Dr. Ortiz took out my drain tube. They, too, were amazing. I also found that Abraham and Eduardo were overly accommodating. They took my friend who joined me on the trip wherever he wanted to go. As a result, I tipped them well. I am sorry you had a bad experience but I believe it was an isolated one. I would hate to see their excellent reputation suffer because of a unique experience. Jay -

Mine was a 32 and I'm 3 weeks out. I can't get much down at all.

Hi everyone. My name is Jay and I was sleeved in Mexico by Dr. Alejandro Lopez on March 21st. I am down 26lbs and feeling great. I had an amazing experience in Mexico with the doctors and staff. I went through Janese at alighterme.com. I paid about $5k with airfare and was quoted $35k from a local doctor. Take care, Jay

It is happening! I made it to Mexico!
pankration replied to gettinsleeved's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr. Lopez did my surgery and that along with the care in the hospital was first rate. Abraham is a great guy. He mostly makes his money on tips and deserves them. Say hi to Abraham for me. Good luck. Jay Horenstein -
I only took two doses of narcotics and then had non-narcotic pain meds. I was fine.

I went through ALM with Janese and Dr. Lopez. It was an amazing experience. The staff and doctors were fabulous. I can't recommend them enough. Good luck, Jay

I was sleeved there on the 21st of March with Dr. Lopez. The patient coordinators, Abraham and Eduardo will take you parents out to good areas for shopping or for food. The areas they will take them is safe. They also can spend time at the Mariott which is nice. I had an amazing experience with the staff and doctors. I can't say enough good things about the entire process. Be sure to tip the patient coordinators/drivers as this is how they make most of their money.

Fage is the best in my opinion.

I was there and had surgery the same day as you except with Dr. Lopez. It was a great experience. -
Isopure drinks are really good. You can get bottles at GNC but they are over $5/each. Or buy the powder which is much cheaper. They have all kinds of flavors. I like the mango/peach.

I trained Jiu Jitsu and Judo for many years and can't wait to take a lighter me to the gym. Good luck on your return.

AA works if we completely give ourselves to the program and follow directions.

I can't stand most protein drinks but don't mind Isopure. Give it a try. -
Any March Sleevers?
pankration replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was feeling very weak, irritable, and tired and I realized that I was not getting in enough carbs. So I ate a can of green beans along with my 100% protein drink, and I feel a lot better.
