[color=#222222][size=2]My story may be a little different from most... Since 4th grade, I've always been the tallest and thickest of my friend and I've always weighed much more than others thought. However when I went to college, I picked up on more than the Freshman 15. My height and shape would always work in my favor when it can to my weight and my health was great. I moved to Dallas after Graduate School to pursue my Ph.D. While there I kept my appointments with a chiropractor after a minor finder bender caused me to experience back pains... My chiropractor recommended a minor procedure to alleviate the pain. Little did I know this procedure would change my life. [/size][/color]

[color=#222222][size=2]During the procedure, the doctor had problems with needle and injections. I was able to leave there in a lot of pain and unsure about the success of the procedure. I went STRAIGHT to be when I got home but when I woke up my life immediately changed. I attempted to get out of bed but could not move my legs. After several attempts didn't work, I realized that something was seriously wrong. I spent months in the hospital only to learn that I was paralyzed and they had no way to know if I would walk again. I was determined to not let that stop me from doing my best to get through this horrible time in my life. With months of therapy and a great team of family and friend support, my condition got better with time and hard work. After a year and half of being restricted to bed, a wheelchair, then a walker and I gained my strength back and was able to walk again. [/size][/color]

[color=#222222][size=2]Life was great, I had just overcome a MAJOR obstacle in my life but I was the heaviest I've ever been. Next the health issues began to start and they came by storm. First it was blood pressure then high cholesterol, followed by severe interstitial cystitis and diabetes. Soon my purse was overstocked with meds and my activities became extremely restricted. Because of my previous injuries and failed attempts at weight loss on other weight loss plans, VSG is perfect for me. It will allow me to get my life back by diminishing my other health conditions in addition to helping me look amazing! I'm truly excited to start this journey. Since my surgery, my life has been changing so positively. I was off of most medications within 2 months. I look and feel soooo much better. I couldn't have made a better decision; I only wish I had done it sooner! I'm able to be more active in my daughter's life and able to have a more active life of my own. I'm only 6 months in and I'm already down several clothing sizes. I am able to shop in stores that I had not visited in years and I feel AMAZING!![/size][/color]
