Anyone work in the medical field....
tnellp replied to kim2002's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I'm a telemetry RN & work 12 hour shifts. I took 4 weeks off, but probably could have gone back after 3 weeks. I've lost about 50 pounds so far & have so much more energy now. 12 hours days are definitely easier now that I've lost weight. Good luck! -
So sorry to hear this! I had a leak also, but thankfully it resolved on its own. I was very sick in the meantime though. Will keep you in my prayers!

No way, I wouldn't do it, at 4 weeks out I was in the yard pulling weeds for a couple of hours. I was sooo sore for like 3 days after. Also, I had a 15 pd lifting restriction for the first 4 weeks.
-
Congrats!! I was sleeved April 1st, but have only lost 15. You look great
-
Oh the 3rd day was probably one of my worst days. I actually had to spend 4 nights in the hospital I was so sick. I wouldn't chance it. Everyone's experience is different. Good luck to you!!

Does it have anything to do with how fast you lose? I'm a slow loser, 1 month post op & only lost 13 pounds, so I'm hoping it won't be as bad for me....I have really thin hair already

Stalled at Week 3
tnellp replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How many calories are you getting in daily? I'm getting approx 600, which I think is too low, but what can you do....other than add a milkshake....just kidding!! -
Stalled at Week 3
tnellp replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 3 weeks post op on Monday. I've also stalled, but I've heard that it is very common to stall at 3 weeks, so don't get too freaked out over it. It will come off -
Hey, just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this not working for anyone? I am 3 weeks post op and have only lost 10 pounds, and within the past week gained back 1.5 pounds of that. I'm starting to get paranoid that this won't work. I knew I would hit stalls...but this is super early.

Frustrated Sleever Post Op Day 9!
tnellp replied to karen353's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks post op, and losing very slowly as well. I emailed my NUT, she told me not to weigh again until I came in for my next appt, she's right, it will drive you crazy! -
Does this ever NOT WORK for anyone?
tnellp replied to tnellp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol, yes I've thought about this! TMI, I just told my mom today that I run weigh every time I poop hehe But I did start taking colace yesterday, so I'm hoping that will help get everything moving! -

tnellp replied to tnellp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I'm using my fitness pal to track what I eat, never get in more than 800 calories. I'm on soft foods now. I always get in at least 60 grams of protein, I walk 30-45 min most days. The only thing I haven't been good at is getting all my fluids in, I probably get in about 40 or 45 oz/day. -
I'm also 3 weeks post op, I've only lost 9 pounds, and have gained the past 2x I've weighed. Im also very disappointed. Averaging 60-70 grams of protein a day, and approx 800 calories, just not too good about getting all my fluids in, but surely that's not why I'm not losing.

One week post surgery and feeling hungry
tnellp replied to Chas74's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Good to know this gets easier! I'm a little over 2 weeks post op and think I'm going to starve to death sometimes -
You look awesome!! Congratulations!

3 1/2 weeks post-op, hungry and worried!
tnellp replied to bunnybstuff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 9 days post op, and starving. I've wondered the same thing also. I take Protonix 40 mg 2 x day, so I know it isn't acid reflux. I was told I wouldn't even want food after surgery...wrong I paid thousands of dollars out of pocket for this surgery, so being so hungry, so soon really scares me, after all, if I had willpower, I wouldn't have needed it. -

What changes did you make to your diet before surgery?
tnellp replied to JessicaAnn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is scheduled for this Monday. I was addicted to diet pepsi, but managed to give them up completely. I only drink water now. I also stopped smoking. Good luck! You can do it! -
You should be proud! You look great!! How far out are you? My surgery is Monday & I'm currently 259, hope I look as good as you in a few months
