I just found out that there is a kink in my tubing. The doctor could not get the fill to work. He did an x-ray and there is a kink in the tubing keeping the fluid from going in. He is going to have to go back in and straighten it out. The bad part is my insurance has changed since surgery and I am hoping it will cover it. My surgery was in August and I have lost 50 pounds since then and an additional 35 before surgery. I hope to get the surgery over with and get back on track. I am just waiting for approval again. Has this happened to anyone else. The doctor said that I am the first that he has had it happen to.

I was banded in August 2007. It feels like something is stuck and I need to burp. But I can still eat and drink and burping doesn't help. It started last night. Not sure if this is normal. Went in for a fill today, doctor didn't seem to worried about it since i could still eat and drink. But it is very uncomfortable. Has this happened to anyone else???

I am still waiting for insurance approval. But it does make me feel better that it was easier the second time around. I just hope I don't have trouble getting it approved.

I was banded September 9th. So far so good. I was on liquids for the 1st two weeks, then I saw my doctor and he said that it was okay to go straight to Solids. He said slowly return to normal foods. I have and have not had any problems so far. I don't eat much at each sitting because I get full quickly, but have had no problems with any food. I even drank a small glass of Pepsi and had no problem. Is this normal? Or will it all change when I get a fill?

I was supposed to have the surgery on the 19th of July. I went into the hospital and did all of the preop stuff. They took me into the surgery room, put me to sleep, and put the tube down my throat. But before the surgeon started, he noticed a small sore on my stomach that he said was infected. I also had some heart palpitations that he wants to check out. All I remember is hearing "She is not going to be happy when she wakes up". The surgeon chose not to do the surgery. Now I have to start all over with the pre-op diet and hope that this doesn't cause any problems with the insurance. If everything goes okay, I should be banded on the 9th of August. I am just very discouraged now. I should already be banded. Not having to start the pre-op diet again. :help:

Hi. I am new here. I have done everything that I am supposed to for the Insurance. The surgeon is just waiting for the psychological evaluation. How long does it usually take to get an insurance approval. I am just excited to get scheduled and was hoping to do it this month. I was told that it could be 3 weeks or more. Just wondering what you all have experienced.
