What do you look forward to post-op?
michelle4873 replied to ShayLeigh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love this thread, I could so relate to almost all! Crossing legs, running into ex-husband, Amusement rides is a biggie, shopping at normal stores, smaller boobs, or at least losing all my side boob! -
ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....
michelle4873 replied to mmlucas77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
April 26th currently day 5 of liquid diet -
So I started my liquid diet on Tuesday and have already lost 7lbs, makes it that much easier watching the weight drop...I can't wait to be on the other side and see it too! Definitely helps to continue to not cheat!

Well so far I have had NO grumbling tummy which is amazing to me ! I have no realized how much "head hunger" I have had all my life! I have a 3wk (by choice, 2 is required) liquid to do pre-op. my program supplies 3 meal replacements a day and I am allowed fat free broth, SF jello, SF Popsicles and if need be FF jello pudding . I have found my constantly having fluid at my side I have kept the full feeling and have kept up my fluid intake to 100oz plus! The downside....peeing all the time lol! I was down 2lbs in 2 days already ! So for all those dreading it, you never know how you will feel until you do it! I have been thrilled so far to see how strong I have been so far especially knowing this will help my success on the "other side"!

I am on day 3, my program supplies New Direction meal replacement which I found very good, I mix with h2o, they have Choco straw vanilla pudding and soups, I haven't felt hungry at all! My suggestion is keep drinking thru the day in between! I haven't had any stomach rumbling, I realize how much head hunger used to have ! I too have 3wks!

So today is first day .. Any advice or words of wisdom? My drs give three meal replacement shakes and sugar free jello, pudding,Popsicles and broth only till my April 26th date

I started my journey jan8th met the surgeon feb6th and have my surgery for April 26th, I would say it depends on surgeons schedule and what they require for pre surgery testing and diets -
Peoples reactions to weight loss surgery
michelle4873 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anyone else get those looks or reaction when you tell people you are having surgery the " can't you just diet regularly" . I get so frustrated, I really feel like just saying" yeah I'm gonna take the easy way out instead because I don't want to diet" . Seriously this is one of those times you want to tell them walk in my shoes! I've always been heavy, fought all my life with yo-yo dieting and I finally decided to take action that requires actually MORE work than regular dieting! Sorry had to vent! -
Clot? Strange pain?

I've already been told that I will be going home on lovenox because of my past clot. -
Clot? Strange pain?
michelle4873 replied to Evolving's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have it checked! I had one last year in my leg post-op, I just had a pain that felt like the next day after having a charley horse in my calf, and it was positive, and I'm in the medical field! Better safe than sorry! -
Took about a week, Harvard pilgrim insurance, even though I figured it would with my BMI of 49 still makes a difference to have it in writing. Makes this surgery even more real now!

...that it was time to do something about weightloss... Mine was when I wait 1hr in line to go on the superman roller coaster and I couldn't strap all the way in and had to do the walk of shame off the ride leaving my boyfriend on and felt like EVERYONE watched, and then having him feel like consoling me after when all I wanted to do is hide in a closet, that was last time I went to amusement park 2yrs ago
