I love how great and happy everyone looks!

My surgeon told me everything in moderation. I wont drink diet soda due to the aspartame but I will allow myself a regular one from time to time.

14 Months Post Op. 6 Weeks Pregnant. Protein Shakes?
Roserie replied to AmberDawn's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I have no advice either (sorry!) but I also wanted to say congrats! I never thought I'd have a baby and had my son 8mths ago. Best thing to ever happen to me. Good luck for a happy and healthy pregnancy! -
My son is 8mths now and almost 30lbs (will be almost a yr old when I have my surgery) and am a SAHM. I personally planned to have my mom and brother come out to visit when I have the surgery to have complete help for that first week. You may consider having your SO lift them out of their cribs (or wherever they sleep) and then move them to the living room floor for the day. This way you can lay on the couch and be able to do all diaper changes and naps on the floor during the day. Then have bath time wait for when someone is able to be there to help you lift them in and out of the tub. I would say do as little lifting for at leas the first few weeks as possible.

Hope your surgery went well. I'm up in Pipersville (near Doylestown) and going to Lehigh for my surgery (have to do the 3mth program first).

Doctor cleared me to keep trying for a baby 5 weeks post-op

I'm sorry if you felt like I was attacking you as that wasn't my intention. I have struggled with infertility and was told I would never have kids. I had my son 8mths ago and I couldn't imagine my life without him. I was just suggesting that maybe you wait a bit and focus on yourself and your weight loss before getting pregnant since you will likely gain back what you lose. I myself plan on trying a yr out from my surgery (2yrs is way too long for me). But if your doctors think it is ok and you feel it's what is best for you and your family go for it and I wish you a happy healthy pregnancy. -
I'm going to Dr Harrison in Lehigh but just wanted to say hello since I live in PA as well .

For those that have had surgery I'm wondering what you miss most after having had it done.

Also here are a few fun facts about what happens after you quit * In 20 minutes you will have a decrease in blood pressure, and it should return to normal. * In 8 hours, the levels of toxic carbon monoxide will return to normal. * In 48 hours, most of the nicotine will leave your body, and the risk of heart attack will greatly decrease. * In 2 weeks, circulation will return, and continue to get better. * In three to nine months your lung capacity will get better. * In 1 year, the dangers of heart attack will be reduced by half. * In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker. * In 10 years the risks of lung cancer will return to that of a non-smoker. * In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker. My sense of smell and taste returned after quitting as well, it was great.

5yrs ago I quit smoking after being a 1.5-2pk a day smoker for 10yrs. One of my biggest motivators was my grandma dying from lung disease. My grandpa is now also suffering from the worst case of emphysema his dr has ever seen. You honestly just have to make the decision that you are done. If you don't want to quit nothing is going to make you quit. The first few days sucks but it was the best choice I've made in a long time. Now the smell of them makes me so sick I have no desire to ever smoke again. Remove yourself from situations where you would normally smoke and busy yourself with other things. put that money you would be spending on cigarettes in a jar somewhere each time you have the urge to buy a pack and look at how much you save a month. If you have kids look at them every day and remind yourself you want to be healthy for them. That should be motivation enough.

Seems a little weird. My dr requires you to sign a form stating you wont try to get pregnant for 1-2yrs after having surgery. The surgeon said a lot of babies conceived so close to have the surgery wind up with defects due to the extreme weight loss and the inability to eat enough to keep the baby healthy. I would think it would be a good idea to get a second opinion and considering waiting at least 6mths before even considering trying. -
Just wondering if there is anyone here from the area. Going through Lehigh Valley for surgery.

Do you like him? Have you met with the others? I haven't met any of them yet and am going to have to pick one soon.

which surgeon are you using?

I haven't scheduled it yet. I had my seminar with the surgeon on Thursday. I have to call my dr on Monday and let her know that I decided on surgery and to change my appointment on the 19th to reflect starting the program for the surgery. So I should have my physical when I go in. Hopefully they'll set the date then. This has been a long time coming.

I haven't had the sleeve surgery yet but I have had my gallbladder removed. That being said if you have been having gallbladder issues and have the chance to get it out I would strongly suggest you do. I started having gallstones 2.5mths after the birth of my son. I would have attacks every few weeks and they would get worse as the weeks went on. The last straw was the night I went into the ER for pain from an attack. On the drive to the hospital I started to feel completely disconnected with my body. I threw up excessively and had severe pain in my chest. It was so bad I couldn't tell you what went on on the 45min drive to the hospital. I was originally trying to wait out getting it taken out as long as possible but I should have had it done sooner.

I was thinking the same thing. I would have your gallbladder checked out.
