    Diarrhea -help!

Ha, I'd just be thankful you can go. Wait a couple of weeks ????
  2. I would call your surgeon's office and see if they have an information packet they could send your new doc. That's what my surgeon' office does. They want to make sure whoever else is taking care of their patients knows exactly what they've had done.

    Driving?

I was sleeved on 5/1 and driving by 5/3, so yes it's possible.

    too much time off!

I'm an ER nurse and took 10 days off total. I can't imagine being off any longer than that. I was ready to go back to work by day 5 but since I never take time off for myself I decided I would just enjoy some me days.
  5. I am feeling good. Ive lost 10 poubds from my pre-op weight plus the 8 or so i gained during surgery. I'm back at work (ER nurse) and haven't had any problems except today I was a little queasy at work early in the day. I transition to "puréed" foods tomorrow, so I cheated and started tonight with an little bit of taco meat and refrained beans. I couldn't eat much, and even spit a little out after chewing it forever. I was burpy afterwards but an hour later felt good enough for a few more sips of water. My meals have been primarily protein shakes (Premier), and I don't mind them at all. I've thrown in a little tomato soup, pudding and jello but overall I'm just not a fan of those things or any other "full liquid". So tomorrow I will start experimenting and see what happens.
  6. I'm two weeks (!) out and feeling fantastic! Congratulations on all your upcoming excitement!
  7. It's internal drive too. Just make yourself get out and do something. Take a buddy if it would help. Maybe try something different, like water aerobics, trampoline aerobics, etc.
  8. I was sleeved May 1. HW 304 CW 249 1st day of summer goal 225
  9. Mine is clear liquids x 3 days, then full liquids day 3-14, then puréed day 14-28, then regular diet.
  10. I had surgery in 5/1 (a Wednesday) and go back to work next Monday 5/13 - so 8 working days off. I could easily have gone back this past Monday but instead I took a me-week. It's been nice. Too nice perhaps. I haven't had any complications. I'm not hungry. My dr didn't have any activity or lifting restrictions. I've been gardening, shopping, walkinf, working out on the eliptical machine, wrestling two toddlers, etc without any hesitation or any problem.

    Recovery

I had surgery Wednesday afternoon, discharges Thursday morning, and went right back to caring for my 2&4 year olds. I didn't have any lifting restriction, but I avoided it as much as I could. I showed them my band aids and told them my tummy hurt and asked if they'd help me. Now everyday my 2 yr old wants to see my owies. I guess how much help you need is really individualized.
  12. It's the same for me. Actually I doubt I've lost that much. We'll see tomorrow morning when I step on the scale. I've at least lost what I gained in surgery. And I've lost 49 since starting this whole thing. Guess its my body's way of trying to control things :/
  13. Who's scale is moving down already? Mine is stuck. Hasn't moved except going up from surgery. And my gas has doubled. When should we start seeing a decrease?
  14. I have that same discomfort when I drink (im not kn foods yet). My surgeon called to check up on me and we talked about it and he says its related to the swelling and it will subside once the swelling goes down. Just make sure to do small sips.
  15. Well I've purchased the plants, anyhow. I loaded them on to the cart at the store, a young helper guy lifted the potting soil I needed and put it in the car for me. Then I went back and got two lilac bushes and somehow managed to get them in the car myself. They were not heavy, just awkward. My doc didn't put any lifting restriction on me but i do not want to push it either. I got home and took a dose of pain medicine, and in an hour or so I'll go out and start on the pots. Everyone is different in their recovery. The other gal that had her surgery the same day at my clinic cried and wretched all night. Luckily she was in a room with a door so they could close it and spare me that. I just keep telling myself it could always be worse!
  16. I have just 5 incisions. (One of those is in my belly button). it is weird how we're all different. I feel good today. I just went to a huge nursery and bought a bunch of colorful plants for my garden and deck pots. I'm just taking a break before I go do the tough part. My tummy muscles are sore, but not unbearable by any means. I tried my first popcicle today. It was meh. And tomorrow I get to move up to full liquids so I'll get my Protein shakes back, some tomato Soup and V-8 and pudding. That's about all I like off my list. Oh wait, I can have fudgesicles too. I guess I need to go to the store!
  17. Ok, what have you may 1s been "eating" today? I've had a bunch if water, some vitamin water, and unjust made some broth. I'll have about 15 calories in me before the end of the day. Am I doing the same as the rest of you?
  18. Luckily in not hungry. I am up,dressed, had my leak tear and now waiting for my husband and kids to come get me! After the leak test the doctor said i was the best patient he'd seen and that having almost 50 pounds since the end of October that he had a super easy time in the OR.

    Any seattle sleevers ?

SpaveDust, so far so good! Surgery went well, mo complications and with an hour or so post-op ibwasbup doing laps. I have discomfort when intake andrii, But its not horrible I've had so far 24 ounces of Water. One thing to beware if - I'm an ice person. I love chomping in ice. They caught me at the ice/water station and totally busted me before I could have some. Apparently ice can make you tummy spasm. So all I've had is room temperature bottled water As far as the staff. They are all fantastic a little noisy at night, but with some meds on board I got some rest. I haven't had a lot if pain. The night nurse insisted I take pain meds every 4 hours. I suppose that's not a bad thing though.
  20. I was sleeves like, 2 hours ago! I feel great!
  21. I'm done! Had my " milk of amnesia" at 2 and now it's 4:25! I have a little pressure (gas?) but otherwise ok. Did a couple of laps round he nurses station already. Yay me! How's eveyone else?
  22. I go in at 11am! Yay, excited but not anxious. Not nervous either. Tomorrow will be a good day and Thursday I'll be back home with my kids.
  23. I'm May 1 also. But weirdly not excited or nervous. I'm really a one-day-at-a-time kind of person so we'll see how I sleep tomorrow

No weight loss on pre-op diet

I haven't lost as much as I was hoping, only 2-3 pounds this past week. My total loss since the end of November is now 42 pounds and surgery is in 2 days!
