Height, weight and loss
Itsme! replied to Fit2btied's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'9" HW 304 SW 265 CW 212 DOS 5/1/13 Looking forward to busting through my next 2 goals - losing 100lbs and then getting below 200!! -
I'm like Macy. If I make something I don't like to eat it. I haven't had any issues with wanting to eat what I'm cooking for my family, though generally I cook for them what I would be eating too.

MAY 2013 SLEEVERS PROGRES!
Itsme! replied to christymrod's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HW 304 SW 265 CW 213 I mostly feel great. I can eat pretty much anything but choose not to eat bread, rice or Pasta. No nausea, no vomiting, just eat small portions. My favorite things to eat are white cheese (can't do yellow anymore), any meat, and fresh fruits though those are very limited. I also like nuts, but those are just treats. If i cant find anything to eat my go-to is a 1/4 cup of oatmeal mixed with a tablespoon of peanutbutter. I'm working out 3x a week, doing the C25K program. I've gone from a size 22-24 to a baggy-ish 16 (but I don't have any 14s so I'll be stuck at 16 until I fit in my 12s). My next goal is to be down 100 pounds (just 9 more to go!), then to be under 200 (just 13 to go!) -
I'm doing the Couch to 5k program (the app I'm using is C25Kfree). It's been a good challenge for me, a non-runner. I'm on week 6 and have built up to running 20 minutes. The whole goal is to train for 8 weeks then run a 5k. I also use MapMyRun to track how far and how long I'm working out. Congrats on your successes and Good luck to you!

I'm an ER nurse and could have gone back to work about day 5. I took 10 days off total. At times I was bored, but then I remembered I was taking a me-week.

My enjoyment of food has totally gone
Itsme! replied to musiclover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm right there with you. Sometimes I dread mealtime because nothing sounds good. I will not eat bread, rice, pasta and that's what my (skinny!) family often has. I just keep plugging away at eating protein - it's not that I don't like it, food generally doesn't sous good, especially after I see it. Oh well! -
No Straw to drink with!
Itsme! replied to aTXtumbleweed's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had a straw at the surgery center also. I haven't had any problems and also drink better with one. -
someone one asked me my "due date"
Itsme! replied to diana89131's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Devils advocate - maybe the way your clothes fit now that you've lost weight makes it appear like you are pregnant. I had super baggy scrubs in June, and when a patient made a comment about "whoa, you have twins in there?!", I figured it was time to get some new ones. -
Fecal Impaction... tmi... HELP!
Itsme! replied to CouchToHealthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiber chews. Take them a few days (or until you can eat fruits and veggies), then taper back down. Just don't stop them cold turkey or you'll end up in the same boat. -
I've been averaging about 10 pounds a month, so not a lot, but pretty consistent. I started they couch to 5k program 3 weeks ago. I don't know if it sped up loss yet. I do feel stronger though. I know a lot of people that have lost weight without working out, but for me I need to change behaviors. I want to be more active (but not over the top stupid active ). I really hate sweating!

I am an ER nurse and took 10 days off. It was plenty for me. Its dependent on many factors. Mostly I was bored before a full week passed.

Calling all floor nurses or aides
Itsme! replied to Mrs.FullerRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am an ER nurse and took off 10 days. I could have gone back sooner. I felt great by day 3. I just took the next week as my me-week, got my hair cut, nails done, gardened, shopped, etc. -
I was 218 yesterday! Yay to be I the teens!!
-
How far out are you? Once I started eating fruits and veggies things got miraculously better. (who am I kidding?! I started fruits. I don't like veggies!). Prior to that I used fiber chews. They helped too but the nurse said they can cause rebound constipation when you stop them.

I didn't tell and neither did my friend not even to me.......need advice
Itsme! replied to Beach Lover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I say the same thing. Only a handful of people at work know and they all are respectful of my privacy. More and more people are commenting in my size and progress. I feel a little guilty when they ask if I had surgery and i say no, but it is none of their business. Bottom line is I've changed my habits and that is what's causing my weightloss. -
Getting frustrated with the scale!
Itsme! replied to bettyb71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think 3-5 pounds a week is on the high end. My doc says expect 1-2 pounds/week, and that's on the low end. I'm averaging about 10piubds a month (is all), and I'm ok with that. Just keep at it and you'll lose what you need to. It just takes time. Btw it looks like you're averaging 15 pounds/month. That's awesome! -
Thanks everyone. I doubt I'll ever like shopping though. I've always hated it because I know what I want but then can't find it. Oh well. At least I can shop in "normal" stores/sizes now. And yes, I'm thankful that even though its not a lot every month, I have been consistent

I flew at 275 last and didn't need one. It really depends on the airline though. I've been in some small-belted planes! (Once I just didn't buckle because I was too ashamed to ask for an extender)

3 Months, 42 Pounds and going SLLOOWWWW!
Itsme! replied to VSGKasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think 10pounds a month is fine. That's what I've been averaging. It's frustrating to see people doing more, but it is what it is, I'm losing and not gaining. The office says I should average 1-2 pounds per week and I'm doing that and then some. I think if you keep doing what you're doing then it's reasonable to lose almost 18 pounds then by the end of September. -
What foods do you no longer like?
Itsme! replied to anglicanchic85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Food in general. I get hungry but nothing sounds good. I just do whatever protein, then I'm full and move on to something else to do besides eat. -
I was sleeved May 1. My original starting weight was 304. My pre-op weight was 266. Yesterday I was 222. I too, think I'm slower than most, but as long as I keep losing at least 1-2 pounds a week I'm happy. I don't exercise as much as I could. I do follow a high protein low carb diet, but I also live a little. I'm ok with my progress. My goal is I be at 215 for my husband's cousin's wedding next month. Though I dread finding something to wear. I have always hated shopping.

Anyone else stop having periods with weightloss? I've lost 80 pounds in 8 months (almost half post-op) and I'm about 2 weeks late. I POAS and it was negative. And don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining! I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the same.

should I go back to work?
Itsme! replied to lucy00us's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took 10 days but could have gone back in 5. It depends on how you're doing.
