What makes you "dump"?
freethinker replied to alyshac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had 2 experiences of "dumping", once when I ate a banana and once when I had 2 glasses of wine. -
I am so sorry for your loss! Certainly do what you need to do to grieve and be good to yourself and lean on your husband, family and friends.

Most Shocking side effect of weight loss!
freethinker replied to freethinker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone! We are happy, it just was not in the life plans. We have 2 already and I have given away all my baby stuff. In the back of my mind maybe I did want one more but i'm in my late 30's and was not sure I'd have the energy for another tiny one... its all good though, we'll figure it out. For the record, the doctor didn't warn me!! Hopefully I can help get the word out here for others who didn't know. -
When does the anxiety/emotions start to even out?
freethinker replied to Sherryp50's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started to deal with anxiety and anger after a few months actually - I was told its about the loss of hormone receptors that are in your stomach that disrupts the mood for a while. knowing that helped me to deal, then I tried some medications which helped level me out. It takes a while for the body to adjust. -
OMG! Awesome!! Congrats. How are you feeling??

advice please from people who have had plastic surgery
freethinker replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
A good friend of mine had the LBL and arms at the same time - it was hell for her and she had to hire a nurse to help her with daily care... I have not had anything, but from her experience I would say option 1. -
Kristie - Awesome work in weight loss!!! I'm curious why you choose this one over say a lower body lift? I'm just trying to educate myself here... thanks

What do you mean by eating "clean" exactly?? I have heard this before but am not sure what it means.

25 pounds from losing 200 in a single year! Also in 4-ville!

Keep up the great work!!! You mentioned needing Jillian for the head part - maybe its time to find a good therapist to work on the psychology stuff... -
Have this great recipe I love..but will it be VSG compatible ?
freethinker replied to Heather Meyer's topic in Food and Nutrition
I have yet to try rice - I am scared from all the negative chat on it here. I have yet to try corn too - seems like it would be hard to digest. I also worry about the corn chips - they call those slider foods. You can certainly still do foods with this type of flavor though... might take a while to get back to this actual recipe. -
I would feel like crap if I didn't eat either. Find some good high protein foods that satisfy you!

I was crying yesterday - off an on all day (3 months out). Ok, so maybe its hormones and such. good to know. But I realized I was grieving the loss of my dad from over a year ago. I can't emotionally eat or distract myself with food anymore so here I am, smaller, with the same issues, but now I have to deal with them. Do you have unresolved issues coming up??

Irrational rage and irritation
freethinker replied to EnigmaInKY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am more irritable and get angry easier now (about 3 months out). I have considered getting on some medications for it... I never considered it being hormones. The other thought is seeing a therapist as there are probably underlying issues (for me) coming up now that I can't emotionally eat to deal my emotions. -
18 days out and have pains on left lower abdomen
freethinker replied to melyniet's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If the pain radiates from front to back higher up it could be gall bladder. I had deep pain under my stitches from the internal sutures and it was near the incision that they removed my stomach. I was on pain meds into my 4 week and I have a high pain tolerance. Be careful not to lift anything heavy. When in doubt, call on-call doc, imo. -
Telling a young child about surgery?
freethinker replied to Museum-Mama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not dealing with an ex but I do have 2 small children. I told them I had a boo-boo in my tummy and had to stay at the hospital for 2 days to get better. My 3 year old knows not to elbow, push on jump on me and that I can no longer pick her up... which I did and regreted PS. -
Purging my closet again - anxiety
freethinker replied to eclipse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was just thinking about this last night. Some work pants are getting too long and baggy since my asss is not holding them up anymore. I was thinking consignment but I also have thoughts that I can't get rid of my "fat clothes" in case I gain it back again. Ewwwww - At the same time I have thoughts that when I drop another 10 pound mark that I will never see THAT number again... weird. -
I was sleeved the same day as you and I'm about 35 down - great job on the WL!!

Was THAT dumping? (Wine related)
freethinker replied to freethinker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the feedback on this! I figured I was way too dehydrated the next day - especially since I still struggle with getting all the water in.... I wonder how liquor with a sf mix would sit with me. Not that I am in any hurry whatsoever but wine seems out for now and I know beer is off the table... sigh. all well. -
Was THAT dumping? (Wine related)
freethinker posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am beating myself up for this one - 6 wks post-op and last night I drank 2 iced-down glasses of wine over about 2 hour period. It was dumb and I was not thinking because at 4 am I awoke with a burning tummy. TMI - but the bathroom was not pretty: sweating, wanting die, other gross things and me laying on the cold bathroom floor... I am thinking it was the sugar in the wine that caused the "dumping"?? I feel like craaaap today. -
I am late to this party but I neeed something for my legs. Now that I have a lost a bit my thighs are getting floppy - I am starting tonight!!
