I just became a member to this group. I got my surgery date today, Feb 18 and have bounced back and forth from euphoric to terrified. I have tried so many things to lose weight, but this is the most radical. I really believe that this is my best chance to change my life and be healthy, but there have been a few moments today that I thought Oh my God, can I really do this? I start my pre surgery low calorie diet tomorrow and am trying to get myself in the right mind set for this. Does everyone swing back and forth like this? One minute I'm so ready and the next I am so apprehensive.

pain across top of lungs that also goes down onto stomach
rmkwk1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am getting pain that is almost like the letter T. it goes across my chest at the top of my lungs and reaches down into my tummy. It doesnt matter how slowly I sip. Sometimes it occurs after I've been asleep a while. I was sleeved on Feb 18 and had a hiatal hernia repair. Anybody have any ideas how to help? -
My surgery is Monday Feb 18. I am trying to plan ahead, planning what to eat (drink) starting from the day I get home from the hospital until I can add the cream soups and yogurt. Any suggestions on what to fix and when? How much of any one liquid item will I need to fix for one meal? I figure I will probably fix too much, considering what I am used to making for myself to eat, All suggestions will be appreciated.

OMG.....I'm starving! (10 day per-op diet)

I've noticed those commercials, too. Most of them aren't for the healthiest foods out there either. Just started the clear liquid diet and right now I'd love something that I could chew. I think that drinking my meals might get a little tiresome, I just keep counting down the days to the 18th and surgery, -
Feb 18 surgery date yikes!

I am also scheduled on the 18th. I am having the same emotional swings you describe. I start the all clear liquid pre diet tomorrow. I will also be going to the hospital for pre admit tests. I catch myself wondering if I am really doing the right thing. When I sort thru it all logically I know that I am but, still I have those moments...... -
my surgery time is 10. I will have to be there by 8. Not as bad as 5:30, but I work really weird hours and for me 8 o'clock is really early. I keep reading all the encouraging words here and keep hoping it all turns out good. I have moments when I'm not sure about this, but I feel like the ship has sailed on the idea of backing out. Just have to remember what the goal is here and not be distracted

From Texas. Fourth day of pre op diet. Yesterday was my birthday and my daughter (who I haven't told yet) gave me chocolate cherries. I smiled big and said thank you, but that box is sitting there and I'm trying not to look at it

day 2 of the low calorie diet. I felt pretty good about it until this evening. Right now I want to snack on something, anything. I'm not going to give in to the urge to eat, but I wish I could have just a small snack.

Thanks, I think it will be easier with the support of those going thru the same thing. My family is supportive but they don't know really because none of them has done this.
