Nancy, that was a very encouraging post. I can benifit from it too. Thanks so much!!! -
I too have checked the chat room on occasion and never found anyone there. Eleven at night (central) would work for me too. I get home from work about eleven Mon thru Fri.
-
Penni, it's very inspiring to hear about your inches lost. Thanks for sharing it with us and continue doing what you're doing (smile).

What's Your Favorite Type of Pet?
SHAZ replied to donali's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have two cats, Starfruit(8yrs) and Sahara (3 yrs.), both female and extremely queenly. -
(LOL at DeLarla) also (LOL at Greg's "poo" statement) If anyone could hear me they would be sure I've gone nuts. I couldn't stop laughing for a while. Whew!!!!!!! Anyhow, the last diet I tried before being banded was one involving drinking two large glasses of whole milk and eating two small apples every morning. I'm lactose intolerant... (need I say more?)
-
Rachel, I'm sure you will feel good in a couple of days. Good luck to you!!! Let us know when you feel better.
-
Allie Lee, I hope everything works out for you. The band just might do the trick... Best of luck to you!!

Congrats, Jane. I know you'll be glad you decided to get the band. I know I am. It is literally changing my life and I've only had it since Jan 3 of this year. I wish you the best!!!

Dr. Raspante and the entire WLS staff at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, are great!!! Ada, Debbie, Veronica and all else are very caring and supportive. Dr. Raspante is experienced in WLS and posesses a lovely personality. I would gladly refer people to him.

I wasn't able to get this site to work. Where else can I check for details of the bash? -
Girl, you look GREAT!!!! Congrats in a big way!!!!!

Thanks Qwinner. I'm happy to report that my port is finally feeling as if it has almost totally healed. Only a little pain now. Mine is also easy to feel and yes, it does feel very large(smile). However, I'm happy to have it!!!
-
I know where the band is and how it is there, but can anyone tell me how the port is attached. It seems to be such a drawn out healing process. What is it stitched to? Just wondering...

Welcome, Scotty I too was reluctant to tell my mom about the procedure as she is a chronic worrier. But I finally decided ( with the encouragement of my sister) to go ahead and inform her of what I was going to have. Mostly because I felt the same as you, that if something were to happen, she would feel decieved. After she saw how great I felt when I returned home, she and my dad both began to give me all kinds of support. They even gave me a food processer as a gift. They are now happy that I had the procedure because they can see my joy now compared to before the band. You will be fine and if you're like most of us, you will feel good in a couple of days. Don't worry just come to this board often.

Congrats, Greg!!! Think of a pound of butter. It's not so small... I haven't weighed in a few weeks (don't like scales). I will go for my first fill tomorrow and will be weighed then. I am a little nervous because I haven't done so well controlling my eating, although it has been better than before the band. I am very much looking forward to my first fill and hope I get restriction.

I have UHC and after getting all my records together and my doctor sending the request letter, it took less than a month to get approved. It took about three months total for everything to be completed.
