Good, Good, Good Vinesqueen!!! Glad you got it over with. Yes, I also read in WLS magazine that people with by-pass surgery are now getting bands as they are gaining the weight back and the band takes it off again and keeps it off (interesting).

(LOL) Sharon, you're so funny!!!!

Vinesqueen, Monday is your special day!!
SHAZ replied to New Hope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Vinesqueen, The best to you on tomorrow!!! I hope you are feeling well and are not too nervous. Let us hear from you afterwards(smile). Peace. -
Corgi, go to SUGGESTIONS, FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS (weight scale...) I hope it will help you.

Me too!! I was banded on Jan 3 of 05, lost 20+ lbs, was filled on 2-18 and haven't lost anything else or gained any. Spoke with my doctor who said I should come in to see him and discuss why I'm not losing (uhh-humm). He says he feels that my band is tight enough. Oh well, we shall see when I see him on Tuesday. I really think I don't have enough restriction - bottom line.

weight scale at bottom of message

Try it this way Rachel: At the top of this page on the left click USER CP. On that page (in the left hand column) click EDIT SIGNATURE. There will be a square on the screen. Type in your name and statistics (if you like) then click on SAVE SIGNATURE. That will give you a permanent signature at the bottom of your posts. Now, minimize this screen by clicking the little minus sign at the top right hand side of your screen. Go to TickerFactory.com and highlight your ticker (click on it , it turns blue), then, go to the top, left side of your screen and click EDIT, then COPY. Now, maximize your lapband talk page (click the bar at the bottom). Click the area where you want your ticker to go. Go back to the top and click EDIT, then PASTE, then SAVE SIGNATURE. Now go to one of your posts and see if it took. I'm not that computer saavy either but I hope this helps. -
I'm with Kathy and her quote about "the bad side". If you noticed, those people were terribly stressed. And I would say none of them will keep the weight off. If you do it (go on the show) you will more than likely wish you had gotten the band. When it comes to the show, all that glitters ain't gold. However, you KNOW what the band will do as you have living proof from the people on this board. You've read many posts, seen before and after pictures and seen people keeping the weight off and being very happy about their decision to get the band. If just making the decision is causing you this much stress and indecisiveness, that too can be seen as a sign.

That's soooo adorable. And it's perfectly normal. My grandaughter is in that stage currently. I love it.

Hello Kim Welcome aboard. I'm only banded since Jan 3 but there are a lot of people here with tons of band experience. Congrats to you and good luck!!!

Go Corgi!!!! You're almost there. Good luck!!

Vera, there are new and innovative ways of dealing with fibroid removal now. A hysterectomy is no longer necessary. And in certain cases, the tummy doesn't need an incision. Do your research, you just might be pleased with what you find out. My best to you!!!

((((HUGS))) TO ALL OF YOU!!!!

Tricia, You said exactly what I'm feeling. I was very happy when I found this board but have since realized that maybe it's not for me afterall. The people that really know each other tend to make someone like me (new) feel ignored. My best wishes to all!!!

I was never overweight while in school - I was extremely UNDERWEIGHT!!! So, I was referred to as skinny minnie, boney marony, and one day while walking down the hallway a guy stopped me to ask if I were planning to become a teacher one day since I already had two pencils (referring to my legs). I went home in tears most days as it was not fashionable to be very thin at that time. My grandmother cooked herbs for me that were suppose to help put weight on, and always told me I was beautiful but to no avail. I hated my body. And look at me now!! GO FIGURE

If something upsets me I will put sugar on any food and eat it, even if it's not meant to be sweet. Sugar definitely hampers me. But, I'm working on it from the inside out...

Grammi, I have UHC through the railroad as well. I don't believe you will have a problem at all as long as all of your medical records are remitted to the company. I too am diabetic and also hypertensive and I was ok'd rather quickly (in less than a month). I was expecting a longer period of time to get approved because I was told it could take much longer than that. I hope yours comes through just as fast. Good Luck!!!!
-
Alice, I am experiencing the same problem. I had my first fill a week ago. Had restriction for the first two or three days then - nothing!! I know I am eating more than I should be, and I am back to using will power to try not to eat. If I am still not getting restriction by the start of next week, I will be calling my doctor to find out if I need another fill. Good luck to you as well. WE'RE GONNA MAKE IT!!
-
The best to you, Kathy!!! Greg, thank you for articulating so beautifully what we all have inside. Lovely post!!!!

Sorry, just getting home from work. As per the two glasses of milk and two apples, I think I can attribute the little weight I did loose to all the bathroom visits. I read that the body would adjust and this would stop. Well, needless to say, MY body did not adjust. I came off of it and gained the weight back over night, Oh my. (smile)
-
I just had my first fill Fri 2-18. For the first two days I really felt restriction. But now I am sure I am able to eat more than I should. However, I know you guys told me to take it easy as the restriction will sometimes sneak up on you. I am very much looking forward to that day. How long do you think it will take before I begin to really feel it again?
