Nykee, I would say that's about average of what we should be eating. Compare that to what you would have eaten without the band!! You did very well.
-
Vera, I'm so sorry to hear about your misfortune with the band. I pray that all will be well, and I wish you the best!!!!!
-
Hi Karla, You'll get lots of support here!!!!
-
Hi and Welcome, Traci!!!!
-
Laura, what a scare!!!! But, I'm glad all is well and I know the procedure will go well too!
-
Go Zoe!!! If I can find one to lift mine up I'll be happy LOL!!! ENJOY!!

I never had to give up coffee. I had it as part of my liquids pre-op and it was served to me in the hospital post-op.
-
LOL!!! Penni, we can always count on you for a laugh. That is so cute! Happy Easter to you and yours!!

I was issued 6 new uniform skirts back in November. They sent the wrong size by mistake (way too small). I was too ashamed of my weight to ask my supervisor to get larger ones for me so I kept them, knowing I was going to get the band soon. I tried it on yesterday (almost 3 monthes post-op) and they fit perfectly. I don't know how much weight I've lost but it's quite a bit. (YYEEESSSSS!!!!!!)

Hi Terri I'm sure we all go there from time to time. We're here to support each other no matter what. That's the beauty of this site. Glad you're feeling better!!!

Hi Cathy, Welcome and congrats on the weight loss so far.

Happy Birthday And Many Happy Returns!!!!!!!!!!

Maria, I had the same thing happen during my pre-ops. My insurance was willing to cover everything but for some reason the one doctor wanted psych fees up front (???). So I went with my plan B (another hospital) which put everything under my insurance coverage. I guess it just depends where you go to have it done. By the way, my plan B was the perfect choice as I had a very beautiful experience from start to finish. (Are you from the Chicago area?)

WARNING GROSS PICTURES Lisa's Surgical Wounds
SHAZ replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with you DeLarla. It looks like a purple mouth with teeth around it (LOL). I'm so glad you're better!!!! -
I wait 30 minutes before or after. If I don't, I either start burping or PB (yuk).
-
almost had 1st PB (does that mean vomit?)
SHAZ replied to Norma Jamerson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Norma When I PB'd it was exactly the way you described it. I leaned over and let all this slime come up, but It wasn't painful. After that, I stopped eating and felt better right away (smile). -
FABULOUS goggles, Penni!!! LOL. I am so happy you have it all over with and are doing fine.
-
Teresa, I'm so sorry to hear about all the suffering you are under, and the loss of your car. The main thing to try and remember is that "this too shall pass" and that you will surely heal. I wish you a quick move through this cycle!!! Peace.

I have a good fill with great restriction right now and I can drink Water just fine. I'm not taking the very small baby sips that are necessary if you have too much fill. As a matter of fact, I drank three sixteen ounce bottles of water and a small bottle of juice today. I have always been a water drinker and think I always will be. I think you'll find it easier in time. You will be able to drink normal if you are not too tight. Good Luck! By the way, I'm from Chicago too!

Belgium Banding experience
SHAZ replied to Madeline's mom's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Glad you had a great experience!!! -
Instead of the s--- word, I always yell "oh sugar-shane!!!" But, I do have my moments and ohhhh boy (smile).

I'm still afraid of whole pills, I crush them into powder form. One of my pills contains liquid in an oval. I've gotten used to biting into it and sucking out the contents (its all herbal stuff).

Lisa, I'm very sorry about your band. I didn't know about the several years wait for another port. That has to be tough on you. But, try not to give up yet. Just give it a little more time (easy for ME to say) as a solution may surface. Peace.

Hi FeelYoung, Yes, I think it is normal to feel a little nervous as the surgery date approaches, I know I did. But, I'm sure you will get a lot of responses to your post and will be assured that its not a horrible experience. As far as feeling the band - no, I can't feel the band. However, the port area will be sore afterwards. As for me, I feel great now and can't even tell the band is there unless I eat or drink. Other than that, I pretty much forget it's there. Good Luck to you on your upcoming surgery!!!
