Christmas - New Year Challenge
mvickyway replied to Bea Amaya's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am Vicky and have been overweight forever it seems. I remember my aunt saying she would buy me clothes if I lost weight when I was in grade school. I did lose weight once when I was 20 ish and was in college and changed my patterns and got down to 145. I gained weight again and especially after having my daughter at 24 and my highest weight was 278. I am a Mom of a single daughter and one of 5 siblings and have a very close family, especially with my sisters one of which has had wls 3 months before mine. I have gone from 224 on DOS to 168 and am working slowly towards 150 and hopefully 135 eventually. I am enjoying my new active lifestyle including running and hiking and am enjoying being "normal" size immensely -

Perspective On Portions
mvickyway replied to Kattastic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel like I eat "a lot" at times too. I hope it is that I am just adjusting to my new small portions since I still serve everything in a 1/2 cup size bowl or very small plate and I am 10 months out. I'd prefer that my calories be around 800-900 but they are usually 1000-1100 usually though -

The Food Police Were Out In Full Force Yesterday!
mvickyway replied to Seela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Au contrair, I ate a spoonful of this and that and a few other bites and stopped. My sleeved sister did the same. Unfortunately my daughter, mother and brother were all groaning afterwards. It makes me sad but we try not to lecture either way -

Are You Having Someone Stay With You In The Hospital?
mvickyway replied to Mel1071's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a firm believer in having a family member with you in the hospital at all times. I had wls as outpatient surgery tho and was utterly grateful my sister was there to baby and caretake me so I only had to rest and get up to walk and potty and nothing else. She is a beauty and it was a wonderful gift -

Thanksgiving was wonderful though we were short 1 brother and 1 sister this year. The food was delicious and I ate with sleeve compliance and enjoyed every bite but the absolute best dessert was having my college daughter home for the weekend. FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
mvickyway replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
DOS 2/20/13. SW 224. CW 168. GW 135. The first 3 months I lost an Ave of 10 lbs per month and I've slowed to 5 lbs per month since June but it pushes me to start running and hiking and now weight training to continue the losing which improves my health so I am satisfied though anxious and striving to hit my next goal of 150 then hopefully 135. I am humbled and impressed to no end at the awesome and inspiring group of losers I am a part of. Cheers fellow February'ers!! -
