FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

I know this is the same song and dance posted over and over again but just need to rant. Sleeved the 14th. Between preop diet and post diet March 2 was down 26 lbs. Yeah me. Here it is April 6 and still at the same 26 lb loss. I'm drinkin 40-60 oz of water, getting my protein (at least 60-80), only eating a little every 2-3 hours(not grazing), making everything I eat so I can keep an eye on carbs and fat. WTH, nut told me at 4 week checkup I'm doing everything right and I will go through stalls and some people have stalls that last a month or more, but really. Again sorry for the rant but I am beyond frustrated. I had the lapband and lost 30 then put 20 back on. Now the same ppl at work are giving me the so sorry look. UGHHH!!! -

Went to my 5 week checkup and I have only lost 5 lbs since the first week out checkup. 26 since beginning of pre-op diet. I was frustrated but the NP said that was the average weight loss for this checkup. She told me to keep following the plan and it will come off. She also said they like to see an average of 5 lbs a month at my BMI. I know my clothes are feeling much looser. My PJ bottoms actually fell off last night when I sneezed. A little embarrassing in front of the nephew. Luckily I pulled em back up before he noticed. I'm really thankful for my sleeve friends here. You guys have kept me sane knowing I'm not alone in the struggles and able to rejoice in the victories together. -

My prayers go out to his family. We sign the waivers saying we understand a blood clot among others are possible risk with surgery, but does anyone know if there are preceeding symptoms we should watch out for? -

Ok, I will quit being discouraged about stalls. I was sleeved 2/14. I had my huasband take measurements on 2/10. As of this morning I have lost 8 inches in my waist and hips. 3 in the waist and 5 in the hips. Yipeeee!!!!! I am still in the same size jean, 20, but very loose. Just not quite an 18 yet. Oh yeah 254 on 2/7, 228 this morning.

Anyone having problems telling others?
txladybug1993 replied to TTL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never been good at keeping secrets, so if someone asked I told. My husband has been amazingly supportive, my children tried but were scared but my mother begged me not to do it. She cried and appologized for not being a better mother and making better food choices when I was growing up. She has always been skinny and is a sweet-aholic. I had to tell her I'm 42 and I'm an adult so therefore my weight now is not her fault and remind her that my weight is genetic from my dads side of the family. My dad passed at 54 with heart issues and I did not want the same thing for me. That calmed her down a little and in the end she was supportive. As far as work goes they are all more curious than anything. -

Here's a recipe I found on another thread. Tasted like hot wings without the texture. 1 can chicken 3 Tlbs Blue Cheese Dressing (the original called for 2 Tlbs Ranch and Blue cheese crumbles) 1 Tlbs Frank's Red Hot Sauce Mix together and puree. Makes about 4 oz and took me all day to get it down but so good. It has 12 gr protein and 240 calories. I'm sure if you use the light version of the dressing you can reduce the cals a bit. -
is it gonna work?

I'm 3 1/2 weeks out. Pre-op I always craved pickles. During clear liquid before surgery I would drink the juice. Now I look in the fridge and see them and feel sick to my stomach. Funny how our cravings change. I have heard though, when you are released to soft foods you can eat the mushy insides of the pickle.

Sleeved 2/14 down 26. -
Sugar will aerate the butter but by mixing the butter first it softens the butter making it blend more easily into the other ingredients as you add them.
-
You put it in a mixing bowl and mix on med speed. It is the same as with sugar only omitting the sugar. Good luck with the brownies.

Cyndra, I too was sleeved on the 14th. Although I've been released to cream soups if I eat them I don't get my fluids. I have found though if my fluid intake is warm such as decaf tea or coffee I can get my minimum intake of 60 oz. It has to be decaf though cuz caffein is a diuretic and will only compound the problem.
-
It took me almost a week to meet my minimum protein and water intake. My Dr said do not drink from a straw as it introduces air into the stomach which will make it harder to reach fluid goals and will cause more gas/burps. I am just over two weeks out and my minimum intake has been raised. I was told I could add cream soups but still full liquid. Problem is if I eat cream soups I can't get my minimums.

Kind of envying some people who don't have to do a liquid pre-op
txladybug1993 replied to Msa662's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I only had a week restriction before surgery but my BMI was 37 so that may be the difference. The protein shakes kept me full but it was the head hunger or cravings the did me in. I think we all cheated a little bit. Mine was a bite of chili dog the first night and a small handful of fritos the second. I was so down on myself for my lack of will power and scared my surgery would be cancelled I did not cheat again after that. Good luck.
