  1. Surgery date was the 14th. I am supposed to get down 48 oz of liquids and 40 grams of protein. There is absolutely no way. It's 5pm and I have only managed 10 oz of water and 3 oz of Isopure. I keep getting really sharp pains across my abdomen and up into my chest, last all but a few seconds. Other than that the belly pain is at a 4 inbetween lortab doses. @TStorm yes I have had diarrhea as well. So embarrassed, thought I was only passing gas and had to go change. My 18 yo daughter will never let me live that down.

Places to get liquid protein samples

Another poster referred me to Jay Robb Protein. I have read many reviews from many sites which say this taste amazing. I will be ordering some soon and will update my experience. Here is a link to their sample packs. http://www.jayrobb.com/protein/whey-protein-samples.asp

Happy Surgery Day. Hope everyything goes well and a speedy recovery
  8. I was told I could add sugar free syrups or a product called PB2. PB2 is a powdered peanut butter. They also have one that is peanut butter/chocolate. You can find it at specialty markets.
  9. Glad to hear another Dr. uses the scope as well since all I hear is bougie.
  10. I asked what size bougie and the nurse said he did not use a bougie but instead used the camera they use for the EDG. She said which means it is approx. 32 mm. Now my naieve assumption was that meant diameter but now that I am looking at bougie size comparisons I am a little worried that was circumference. My thinking it is circumfrence is because she also said that the 32 was on the small size of the bougie scale. I was told the reasoning for using the camara as a size guide was so they could monitor the stitches inside and out as they went to better control issues if any.

Bored I won't be but I will keep you in my prayers and sending you all kinds of good vibes for an uneventful surgery. Good Luck!!
  12. I don't think it was the Dr but the insurance that dictated the same day. When I originally spoke to my Dr he had stated he usually did them separately. When I found out I was approved all in one surgery I called the Dr and was told it was not uncommon for the insurance company to approve it that way.
  13. I know I am joining this thread a little late but my revision is scheduled for 2/14 with Dr. Kim. I have been through the sleep study, EDG, counseling and nutrition classes. I received a check off list the insurance assistance use when talking to my insurance company and I felt lucky I got off so easy. The staff at Dr. Kim's so far have been very helpful and patient with me and my multitude of nervous type questions. I already feel much better than I did with my band dr. Oh and by the way, I was asked as well if I was coming back to the hospital to have my surgery in a couple of weeks. Not sure why they think that, I still had several insurance hoops to jump through before we even submitted the revision for approval. I wish you all the luck.

    My 1yr Revision Surgiversary!

You look Amazing!! Pardon me in advance if I am being a little personal but YEAH you still have boobs and a butt. One of my fears is the old saying you loose weight in your boobs first and I am a white girl the fat is about all there is of my butt. Crossing fingers I get to keep some of both. Anyway, my surgery is in 2 weeks and your picture video is inspiring. I can't wait to post my own at one year. Keep up the great work!!!!
  15. I had my band unfilled around the first of December. I too had spasms on and off for a couple of weeks (really weird). Unfortunately I have gained 10lbs I will have the band removed and the sleeve performed at the same time on the 14th. Really excited.
  16. Wow, my doctor is taking out the Band and doing the sleeve in the same surgery. I would be freaking out if I had to go that long between surgeries. My revision is scheduled for the 14th and they told me I will need approximately 3 weeks for recovery.
  17. I am northeast of McKinney in Whitewright. My revision from Lap Band to Sleeve is scheduled 2/14. My surgeon is Dr. Kim. Good Luck everyone. :-)

My surgery is scheduled for Feb 14. I start my liquid diet on the 7th. I am having the Lap Band removed, then followed up by the sleeve. I only lost 30 lbs with the Lap Band and kept off 20 for 4 years. I am very excited and have tons of support from family, friends and co-workers. The last two days though I have started worrying what if I fail this surgery too. Then the other side starts with what if I sag so bad I am disfigured and my husband doesn't want to look at me anymore. My husband just looked at me in disbelief that I could think that. This has not thwarted my excitement but I feel I have two little devils on my shoulders. I just have to believe it is just nerves and remember I am doing this for my health and I have been looking forward to this for so long. I know I will be ok. Just Breathe. LOL
