kcinpa replied to JigglyBitsBeGone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 1/28 and for me so far everything is going great, except my "mental hunger" still gets to me sometimes. Also had a breakdown right after surgery where I was like wtf did I do. But as they say time heals all, and it's getting better now. I hope things get better for you as we'll, from what you said it seems like more of a mental thing then a physical thing. This website has helped me a lot with the mental part. It's good to have people to talk too who have been there.... -
I am at 13 days out and I am getting all my protein and all my fluids in. I take all my vitamins and supplements, but I am still only getting in about 400-500 calories a day.

These sound good, I am going to have to try them, how far out should we be for these?

I actually make this and like it. If you want you can add a little unflavored Protein powder to it to give it some more protein. But not a lot or it gets too thick. Low carb BBQ Sauce Ingredients 1 c Tomato Sauce 3 T Worcestershire Sauce 1 T Cider Vinegar 6 packets Splenda 1 T Chili Powder 2 t Tabasco Sauce 2 t Garlic Powder 1 t pepper 1 t liquid smoke Directions Combine and cook over low heat for 10 minutes Makes 8 servings Amount Per Serving Calories: 47.6 Total Fat: 0.3 g Cholesterol: 0.0 mg Sodium: 270.7 mg Total Carbs: 6.0 g Dietary Fiber: 0.9 g Protein: 0.8 g

warning - gross and embarassing question
kcinpa replied to PeacockMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a guy, and I have them too, I know they go away from when I have lost weight before. I am sure a lot of people here have had them before as well. That's one of the things I like about this site, don't need to be embarrassed..... Hope I helped. :-) -
My favorite is chocolate peanut butter flavor, I get it from Walmart. It's like 16 bucks for 2 pounds. It has 26g protein per serving. There are a lot of different places and favors to get it from though. I found a few places that had small size ones I could try first before I bought the big one to make sure I liked it.

Nutritionist letter?... Did anyone see one.
kcinpa replied to beba238's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to go one a month for three month to see the nutritionist, it was required by my insurance for the approval. We just went over good vs bad food. And the last visit she gave me the after care instructions for after the surgery. Haven't seen her since the surgery. -
A few post op questions
kcinpa replied to InMyNext30Years!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was starving right after surgery ( 1/28 ) now that it's been a little while I realize it was mostly mental and in my head, not a physical hunger from my new stomach The pain could be gas, I still have them all over my belly area, but just to be safe if its really bad I would call your dr And as for 3&4 if you are not getting enough fluids you won't be peeing that much, once again I would ask your dr about that, you don't want to get dehydrated -
Looking for a sleeve mentor in Queen NY
kcinpa replied to Lexsan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Preoop jitters are normal. I almost backed out the day of the surgery. And I have had some ups and downs afterwords as well, but for the most part this has been great and is definitely working!! I was sleeved on 1/28 my weight was 450lbs and I just went for my first postop visit on 2/8 and I was down to 421lbs. My goal weight it 200lbs so I have awhile to go. I think the worst part for me was my mental hunger. I am finally getting over that, it only took a few weeks...... Lol. I am sure you will do fine, good luck!! :-) -
Sounds great!

I think I have that same voice in my head, I got sleeved on 1/28 and the first couple days were the worst, I seem to be beating the voice in my head down though cause its getting easier every day!! :-)
