  1. Surgery check in time is 630am tomorrow, I'm packed, showered, shaved (story I read here about showing up to surgery with hairy legs n pits really stuck in my mind), anti nausea patch in place, biggest looser picture taken aka:sports bra & bike shorts, & bags packed. Not nervous anymore, now my focus is on being all layed out on the table in front of strangers with my belly all exposed. No one has seen my arms since the mid 90's let alone my belly!!! Knock me out and get this done!!!!

    carbonated beverages

I have learned a very hard lesson this weekend.... I am almost 1.5 years out and have never touched a carbonated drinks. I am on vacation and have not had alcohol since surgery so I decided to have a beer. Stomach hurt all day and I was bloated but I thought it was the heat. Day 2 had two Mike hard lemonade and my stomach bloated to double in size and rock hard. I googled if beer and Mike's hard lemonade were carbonated and well it turned out that yes they are. I can't believe how uncomfortable I am. No more drinks for me!!!! I will stick with my crystal light
  3. I spent months researching the sleeve because I was obsessed with the things that could go wrong. After 10 months researching and panicking over my blood pressure I took the leap and had it done Feb 2013. I have been blessed that I had no complications, lost 130 lbs in 9 months and have been at my goal weight since. I feel so lucky I didn't have complications but when my friends joke how they want this surgery to loose 40 lbs I tell all of your stories and ask for 40 lbs were they willing to chance massive medical procedures and the pain that goes along with complications....not to mention financial reckoning for most self pay.

    tailbone

I get the tailbone pain all the time. I constently move around in my work chair trying to get comfy so I'm sure my co workers think I have huge hemorrhoids!!!! Hahaha! When I sleep on my side my hip bones ache if I don't move positions because my hip bone is now a pressure point! Also, I'm freeeeezzzzzzing cold all the time. Guess if that's the hardest part of my day I am doing pretty good.

Very personal, loose skin around my vag.

I had the same problem. You will probably find that your plastic surgeon will tell you that will be taken care of with your tummy tuck. When he told me that I really thought there was no way a tummy tuck could take care of a fat vag... I was pleasantly surprised.
  6. I tell anyone who asks and people who just say wow u look good- some who have never met me!!!!. I've lost 130 lbs in the last year so a lot of people ask. I only knew of the surgery because someone from work talked about their journey which got me on mine. I hope someone who is struggling has learned of the sleeve from my willingness to talk about it. I will say it's embarrassing when they ask how much I've lost and I say 130 lbs.... I have lost damn near half of my body weight and it just embarrassing to acknowledge how big I allowed myself to get. I am so glad my co worker shared this surgery with me, I was on 3 blood pressure meds and a c pap machine. Now I have none of that.
  7. Just wondering if any of you don't like the idea of getting implants because your boobs were huge when you were big? I know I've had to deal with DDD 's for years before losing weight and the idea of huge boobs on a small frame freaks me out a little. That's why I can't wrap my head around a boob job, just lift what I've got.... Guess it doesn't really work that way if all u have left is skin. Hoping fake boobs don't come with the back and neck pain.
  8. I had the same surgery in February. I had a very easy recovery and had very little pain. The results are AMAZING!! Everyone tells me how tiny my waist is. My goal was to just get rid of the rolls of skin and didn't really think about the new shape I would get. I had 6lbs of skin and a liter of fat taken off my belly. I am still catching myself doing old habits like when I get out of the shower I still find myself putting the towel in my hand and reaching for a fat roll to dry underneath. It does take a while to not have that tight feeling. I was pulled really tight and sometimes can still feel a tight feeling when doing certain yoga poses. My surgeon said it will feel looser in time. I also had the crochless garment but I enjoyed wearing it until my last week. It felt like a little extra security blanket protecting my belly. I always had a pretty great self esteem even when I was fat but now with my new tiny waist I know I look sexy!!! The sleeve surgery has been everything and so much more. Healthy and a cutie!!!! Next up, arms and maybe some boobs. Good luck with the rest of Ur recovery. FYI I am 4 months out and my scars still itch, using a scar cream really helps.
  9. I was a 42DDD and after loosing 130 lbs I am now a 34DD. They are NOT cute DD's!!!! Pretty much all skin. I had inquired about getting a reduction when I had my tummy tuck but he said I would still need an implant to make it a normal looking breast.weight loss does a big ole middle finger to our bodies (visually) but we end up living a healthier life style. I was not prepared for all the loose skin and never thought my books would look like my 80 year old grammas!!!! Haha actually I think hers are perkier!! I didn't want a boob job but I think I may have to reconsider.
  10. I haven't posted for a while BUT I couldn't just sit back and let seela take all the crap and guilt trip people are saying on here! There is not one single person on this forum who hasn't said man, I look fat in this or made some fat reference. Fat is not some horrible word that seela was using to attack people with. Being fat is something everyone on this site is either dealing with currently or has previously dealt with and has been lucky enough to loose weight but will most likely always have " fat people insecurities and emotions". Yes, I just said that! Obese people have different emotions and insecurities than healthy size people do... We have had to deal with feelings of embarrassment and shame that smaller people will never feel. The feeling of not wanting to die of a,heart attack or stroke cuz we have gotten so big. I grew up a normal size and ballooned up to 270lbs by the time I was 25. I have gone from a size 20 to a 6 in one year (130lbs) so I feel I can voice both sides of the fence. Seela can use the word fat without it beingoffensive because she or he has lived it. Glad to have gotten that off my chest.... Haters, feel free to attack. I'm sure someone out there has been offended
  11. I am 7 weeks out and feel great BUT I wouldn't attempt a hard core workout. I sneeze and I am grabbing my side cuz it hurts. I do wall squats and trying to firm up my arms to prepare them for surgery in July or August. Advise::: take it easy & don't rush!!!!!
  12. As an actual patient speaking from my own personal experience with a tummy tuck on Dr. Harris work I would recommend him to my family and friends. I am pleased with the tummy tuck, very pleased actually with the final outcome, his personality to make me feel that he is confident in his work and the personalities of the staff that take care of u after surgery. He has suggested other ideas that I don't agree on for a procedure I will need later this year. I need visual proof that I would need an implant with the breast lift surgery. He wants you to look and feel good when he is all done but sometimes not everyone is wanting a 18yo boobs! I want my natural breast to look its best, that's all.I'm confident we will come to a compromise I will love and he can be proud of. I also need to remember he is the professional and knows what a beautiful stomach, breast, thighs, or boobs should look like. All I have seen in the mirror is two tube socks with a tennis ball sunk in the bottom!!!! He wanted me to have the 2 scar surgery because when I bend over I won't get the fold of skin because of all the skin I had in the upper abdomen area. He was right! No mini belly roll and it doesn't fold when I'm sitting
  13. I had my TT with Dr Harris in Nov. I am 7 weeks out and my stomach looks great. My scars run all the way from hip to hip and from the pubic area to right under my breasts.he thought for the amount of skin I had that I would benefit from that procedure. They removed 6 lbs of skin and a liter of fat with lipo. My scars are flat and look wonderful! I did have a small pucker at the end of one of the incisions and he said he would do a scar revision that takes 15 mins in the office but it has since laid flat so I won't need to do that. From what I've read that is common. They will get u all set up with compression suit, meds, work notes and anything u need at the pre surgery appt. I will try to post some pictures so u can see his work, haven't been able to figure how to post pics yet.... this was my first plastic surgery but so far I am very pleased and plan on going back for breast lift and my arms.
  14. You will be pleased with his work! I had my tummy tuck Nov 27th with Dr Harris and love it. My scars are beautiful even at 3 weeks! I am planning on having my arms done with him in the summer. I will be posting pictures in the near future.

Risk Of Surgery Vs Risk Of Doing Nothing.

I had never been one to consider wls as everyone I knew that had the band was back to being morbidity obese again. 2 years ago a co worker who was 1 year older than me an much smaller than I was had a massive stroke at work. He will be on disability for the rest of his life and has 2 small children.( one hadn't been born yet) I was taking 3 blood pressure pills daily just to try and keep it normal. I would get home from work and start checking my BP. Many nights I will would lie on the bed with it wrapped on my arm cuz it was at stroke levels. Asking my husband should be go to the hospital yet? What should be wait for before we go???? I couldn't do it anymore! My time was spent wondering if it was time to head to the hospital or wondering if my new life would be like my old co worker.... lucky that he lived but his body and mind will never recover from the damage from the stroke. I viewed my only choices were chance a surgery that could have bad outcomes or basically wait to die of the stroke I knew was coming for me. At 37 it sucks to make those choices but I wanted to live a normal life so I looked into the sleeve. It seemed the safest from my research. I had the sleeve Feb 21st, total weight loss is 120 lbs, tummy tuck was done sept 24 th. My favorite part of the tummy tuck surgery was when they took my BP and didn't need the jumbo cuff!!!
  16. I went to my primary care Dr EVERY time I had a rash to make sure it documented and I took pictures at all stages. I can say I wouldn't have been able to come home and take care of myself after surgery. My husband was so great, he got everything ready to make sure I was comfortable, all my Protein foods ready for me, and helped me bathe. He was home with me for 5 days. I guess if I didn't have him my recovery wouldn't be as easy as it had been. Still, for me, going home less than 24 hours felt medically safe. I did it with the sleeve too but my husband was there to help me with the daily living.
  17. I have taken 4 of my friends to their plastic surgery appointments ( boobs and tummy tucks) all at different places and none of them had spent the night. I took them all home that day. I believe spending the night is not common here in the states. If you travel far from home for plastics they wouldn't want you travel fresh after surgery. Yes, my insurance paid for it but I had skin issues that I documented.

    Surgery Wednesday!

Jgirl how has your recovery been so far? I get my drains out tomorrow! I have a question about the crotchless compression garment.....are u getting sores from the opening in crotchless compression? Mine is rubbing and I've actually got a scab! Anyone feel free to answer this one please! Hahaha.... worse pain from my tummy tuck has been the gas pains and the crotchless garment....
  19. I just had my tummy tuck with lipo with Dr. Harris. I am on day 6 and absolutely thrilled! I lost close to 110 lbs with the sleeve (also at PSSC) and love the fact they have an in house plastic surgeon who works primarily on weight loss patients. He wanted me to stay the night because I would be under a little longer and made me have a CT scan due to a medical issue that came about 2 weeks prior to my TT just to be 100% positive surgery would be safe for me. My TT was the day before Thanksgiving and he was in bright and early checking on me Thanksgiving morning- thrilled with how well I did threw out the night. My nurse said she had be texting him updates periodically threw out the night also. I only did pain killers for 3 days and go in tomorrow for my 1week checkup. I had thought hard about going to mexico for arms and boobs but the safety and results I have received from Landerholm (sleeve) and Harris (plastics) I will not be looking any further. If something or someone works, why change or risk it is my thought. I did all this to live a healthy life so I will be sticking with PSSC to get me to my goal!!!

    Surgery Wednesday!

What all did you have done? I had a TT and feel like I have breezed through this too ( sleeve was also an easy recovery). Honestly, gas pains has been my issue with this surgery so far. I follow my dr's guidelines to the t even if I think its ridiculous. I would like to get my arms done and a breast lift maybe late next year. If you had either of these done, what was your experience?

    Surgery Wednesday!

Prunes,3 glasses of apple juice, 2 fleet enemas, walking around, and 3 colase pills....... only thing all that has produced is a few HUGE farts! OK- and a ton of relief too but no bowel movement. I haven't gone poop in 5 days which isn't unusual for me, I am trying to not become constipated. I am down to 1 pain killer every 8 hours so I don't feel that is a factor anymore. Hubby is on his way to get me some milk of magnesium. Last trick I have up my sleeve, anyone else have ideas???

Day Two Post Op & So Much Pain

Best advice is to walk and walk and walk. One thing that worked for me was the heat pad. So if I wasn't walking around I had the cheat pad laying on my belly or shoulder. Good luck!
  23. To all my fellow February sleevers...... I have had a really big day in the last few days. I have lost over 100lbs, no longer have a bunch of meds or need to worry that I'm going to have a stroke at any moment, and I had a tummy tuck done on wed to get rid of the loose skin. I will never have to worry again about getting a disgusting yeast infection in my belly rolls that stinks like rotten ass! All of this has been accomplished in 9 months! My sleeve surgery was Feb 21st and I am so proud of the accomplishments I have made. I am careful to not over eat but at the same time do not deny myself a treat. I really hope and pray that all the other sleevers have had a similar wonderful journey. Share your finest moment since ur surgery.

    Surgery Wednesday!

So I am almost 3 days post TT and my pain level has been low the entire time. BUT.... I have horrible gas pains!!! I've downed almost an entire box of gas x strips, tried walking around more to get things moving, prunes and metamucil. I am constipated and I can't fart! How ironic the worse part of my TT surgery is farting!!! Any suggestions on how to get things moving? At this point I'm desperate and will try anything
