Heart burn after plastics
pammycakes replied to ooffa511's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had my TT yesterday and for the last couple hours I have had bad acid reflux. The nurse gave me something for it and it is almost gone now. funny how we just had our guts and fat taken out but the heartburn is what brothers us!!! I believe my culprit was 2 boxes of Apple juice. -
I had the TT where it looks like an upside down T. He had a few photos to show me so I did have an idea of how bad the scarring would be. Dr landerhome did my sleeve ( no complications) so I felt confident with the in house plastic surgeon Dr Harris. The scars from the sleeve healed beautiful so I am hoping for the same for my TT. I love all the nurses, MA's, receptionists and the surgeons here at PSSC. My favorites are the surgical nurses. They bend over backwards to make ur overnight stay as comfortable as they can.
-
Surgery went great and was able to finish in 5 hours!!!! Pain is minimal so far and I have been up walking around and going potty. Dr Harris came in and in did my compression garment to show me. Ummmmmm not to brag but holy crap my belly is awesome!!! They took 6lbs of fat and skin and a litter in lipo fat! Best Thanksgiving for me!!! Any update from the gal who had TT and boobs this morning? Would love to talk and compare stories.

I'm up and getting ready too! So excited....Good luck today with your procedure!

It hasn't been that long.... Feb 21st. I am down to 158 lbs, size 7/8 jean and don't want to be any thinner! I've been in my 10lbs goal weight range for a few months and since I have met all my deductibles for insurance it is only going to be 64.00 dollars out of pocket! I have been toning with a trainer for 5 weeks to build some muscle in my abdomen hoping for an easier recovery.

I am having a tummy tuck/ lipo tomorrow morning. My nurse said the surgery is 7 hours!!! Is that normal, seems like long time to be under.hoping I miss understood
-
I believe this is pretty common. I am 8 months out and remember posting something on here because I didn't want to bother my surgeon with a million questions and 5 phone calls a day. A ton of people replied mostly with the same response of nerve pain and healing. When I went to my appointment my Dr said the same thing AND if I ever have questions don't feel like I am bothering him, they are here to help! I found this site is a good place to start searching for answers to see if its an emergency or if a phone call to the Dr is in order. We all have been where u are and with the amount of people here a few have shared the same symptoms. I found rubbing mine very lightly took the burning sensation away temporarily

As soon as you loose your weight can you
pammycakes replied to beauty29's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I was sleeved Feb 21st and am scheduled for my tummy tuck 11/27! I have lost over 100 lbs and am down to my goal weight of 150-155. I have no desire to be smaller so no need to wait. My plastic surgeon is in the same office as my weight loss surgeon and they both say its fine this early to do plastics. -
I am 8 months out and over 100lbs down. Yesterday I had severe pain in my side down to my groin and today I found out it is another diverticulitis flare up. For those who don't know about this disease it is where part of the colon colapes on itself and is extremely painful! I have to take pain killers and antibiotics but with my new stomach I think they might be too much as I am sooooo nauseated. Any other sleevers have a hard time taking multi drugs after the sleeve?
-
I have had only 4 flare ups since my 2005 diagnosis and this was my first since the sleeve. I've decided to quit taking the pain killers and see if its better from the antibiotics yet. I am on the standard clear liquids and bed rest treatment for 3 more days. My doctor said I should see improvement today and I woke up with much less pain. I just have never been perched up over the toilet after taking the pain killers and antibiotic per surgery. I take all my vitamins and calcium citrate in pill form so I don't think its because of pills, but the type of pills maybe makes me sick.too much for the tiny tummy to handle

My scale hasn't moved in a month either! I was worried then I went to see how close I was to fitting into a pair of jeans I had bought months earlier (size 7) and they fit!!! I guess the inches shed off while the scale doesn't move.... -
Hahaha..... I just read this??? I had come home from a 16 hour shift, took an ambien ( sleeping pill) and went to sleep. I get home tonight and see this as one of my posts!! Have no memory of writing this last night. Gotta love ambien! I also have ordered many many items on groupon while in an ambien deep sleep. Sorry for anyone who tried to read that, I can't even understand it.
-
As luck would find me the personal trainer found a spot to train for 2ce Week. I am thankful for that and for when my arms are gonna give out she is takes the item from me but does it slow so I get at least a 1-2 lifts in!!! Tricky!!!"that's why I need a trainer cuz I when I am tried I just quit that the exercise and she gets me at least 1 round both sides. Best thing I have ever done

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

We I can't believe this but...... I am scheduled for my tummy tuck on Nov 27th!!! I am down 95lbs and less than 10lbs from my goal weight. I have been very fortunate to have my insurance pay for my sleeve and now my tummy tuck ( I am responsible for the lipo part). Do any of you feel like this is all just happening soooo fast? I didn't expect to loose so quickly and get to goal weight in under a year or have my loose skin removed so soon. Sometimes it gets to be overwhelming because I am still getting used to my new face. I'm definitely not complainingly, just wondering if others felt the same way? Best decision I ever made!!! I love my new active life! -
Oh my goodness... I tell anyone who asks!!! I feel like this surgery saved my life and if me telling my story could save anyone else I don't care who knows. The only reason I am off all 3 bp meds and I don't sleep with the cpap is because a co worked talked about her surgery. I will forever be thankful that she wasn't shy, embarrassed or a private person!!! If she was, I would be hooked up to my auto bp machine asking my husband if we need to take me to the er because of my high BP....
-
I hired a personal trainer and met her this morning. She had great ideas and was excited to work with me as I would be her first vertical sleeve client. She went home and researched what would be best for me due to the fact of the small amount of calories I intake vs cardio eating them all up... we get all set up to start full force this week and I get a text tonight from her saying the gym closed it doors!!! I feel bad for all the employees as they didn't see this coming and mad for me because I finally decided to incorporate a r:eal exercise program in my life and it gets yanked out from under me!!!! Grrrrr.... frustrated

It's the little things......
pammycakes replied to FitnFabfor2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have "the little things that make you smile" moments a few times a month now. I am down over 90 lbs in 7 months so you can imagine its like I'm a new person. My new favorite " little things" that happened this week is........ the nurse used a regular size cuff to take my blood pressure and they gave me a regular gown NOT the jumbo gown that snaps together. I had a huge **** eatin grin on my face when I noticed the cuff and she asked what was so funny..... -
what's the little things you've noticed with your weight loss so far!
pammycakes replied to sleeveb430's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am tearing up just reading all these replies....Amazing how the littlest things can make you feel like a million bucks!!! I have noticed most of these too, just today I was admiring the huge vein in my arm to get blood draws in and I find myself rubbing my neck cuz I can feel the bones. My shoes are too big, when I am shopping I put things back because they look "too little" but usually have to come back for them after trying on the larger size. I giggle when the people at work who work different shifts ask "who the new girl is" because they havent seen me for a few months. I am only 6.5 months out but down 90lbs and can't wait to see what new simple pleasures bring a smile to my face when I reach my goal. Best thing I ever did! Great Job Everyone -

feb 2013 sleevers weigh in
pammycakes replied to kathyhalls's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not jaw dropping like others???? All of us have jaw dropping numbers. Who else looses 10+ lbs a month???? Be proud of every pound you shed even if its 5 for the month. When your body hits a stall you still loose inches! We all have been doing well in our new life style and learning on the way. -

I believe being honest in what you eat and holding yourself accountable is a huge factor in success of this surgery. I didn't cut out 85% of my stomach to count and stress over calories for the rest of my life and continue to diet forever. I had to learn portion control and that it is OK to have a treat when I want one. Struggling in your mind is what gets most of us!! In addition to learning to eat properly you need to mentally make changes. Just my thoughts....
-
I am 6 months out and I haven't changed what I eat. I make sure that I get my protein in first then I feel I am free to eat what I want. I do not have hunger so if I got all my protein in by my afternoon snack and still have 500-600 calories left (I shoot for 1200 but some days that is difficult to reach) I will have a handful of chips, a cookie or two or an ice cream. I still make the same dinners, only difference is i eat a half cup of food vs an entire heaping plate of meatloaf and mashed potatoes. For me, I didn't become over weight by the types of food I ate but by the quantity of food I ate. I now will have a handful of chips instead of the entire bag or a small slice of cake vs half of cake. I didn't have this surgery to be thin, I had it to get healthy. I have lost 85 lbs with 10-15 lbs left to loose, all in 6 months. I try to get in exercise but I am not consistent. I feel this surgery has worked for me because I am physically un-able to gorge.... my stomach let's me know when I am done and if I even try to sneak an extra bite in I am a lot of pain for about a half hour!!! Sooo not worth it to try one last bite!!!!
