Hello Everyone, I My name is Nicola. I am new to this site and would like to find support and information from others who have, or looking to be sleeved. I am a quiet person and I have been on this journey for over 3 years with having insurance with my previous job but that did not cover WLS, to not having insurance at all now. I have been on this roller coaster for so long that I have decided to self pay this time. I am going to be 50 tomorrow and want to become health, happy, with myself by doing something different. I struggled for so long with yo-yo diets and to only gain every pound back within weeks sometime months. I am looking to be sleeved on March 1, 2013 in Mexico with Dr Almanza. I am excited and nervous and just feel like something is going to go wrong and then I will become depressed once again. My family is very supportive and my daughter refuse to let me travel alone she insist on going with me to Mexico. I am 5'4" and weigh 283 my weight is still going up and my highest weight has been 295. I am looking for any suggest, support or ideas. I live in Philadelphia, Pa if there are sleevers here it would be nice to get to know you all so we could have suppport within our city, but at this time I would look for any support that is willing to give. Take it one day at a time...I am also on my first pre op liquid diet and I just keep my focus when I feel like I want something that is not what I should be eating I put some type of liquid in there like sugar free jello, broth with a dash hot sauce, or sugar free Popsicle or a protein drink and it has been working. I also stay busy. You will do fine, just tell your self I can do this, I can do this and you will:)

I am scheduled for March 1 in Mexico. I am 5' 4" and weigh 280 down from 284.4 so a lost of 4.4 lbs so far. I will be starting my pre-op diet on Feb 20th. I am really excited and nervous, time is flying. Best wishes to everyone:)

Hello New Here, I will be going to Mexico to March 1 to be sleeved. I am excited and nervous. I will be starting my pre op diet on Feb 20th and right now I am dieting preparing my self mentally and physically. I have lost 4.4 lb since the 11 of this month. This has been a long awaited journey and it is just beginning. Best wish to other that are going to be sleeved this March.
