    just touched down!

I hope all went well! Looking forward to hearing your story.
  2. I just had my gall bladder out in January and had to have that stupid drain for 4 days. In one way it's good because now I know what to expect but also know how quick and great the relief/comfort is once its out. But I'm still hoping I'll only need the drain for a day or two when I get sleeved next week.
  3. Surgery in 6.5 days! I can hardly believe it. I've been on my pre-op diet for a week and lost about 6 lbs. I guess that's not too bad since I unknowingly wasn't doing it right at first but I wish I'd have lost ten. I haven't been dying of hunger until today, so I puréed a tiny amount of food but since eating it I feel sick. I still need to lose another 5 lbs or so to get to a BMI of 45 so I hope I can manage, should be easier that now I'm away from home (working out of town) and don't have to be around my husbands amazing cooking. How's everyone else doing with their pre-op diets??
  4. I never thought of it like that! It's my last unsleeved Friday too!
  5. How is that bad?? Every pound should be a victory and almost two a day should be celebrated even more! Think positive.
  6. What a great account of your journey. It makes me feel even more secure and happy with my decision to go with Dr Kelly. 8 and a half days to go!!
  7. Thanks itstheamarie! I will start mixing the powder in with my smoothies starting today.
  8. But do they help make you feel full during the liquid diet?
  9. Is everyone drinking protein shakes during their pre-op diet? I was told not to start them until 10 days post op which seems strange.

That's fantastic! What was your pre-op weight?

    Post Sleeve Bucket List :)

Run a 5k (no walking) Cross my legs comfortably Wear a size 8/10 Be able to rock thigh high boots! Fit more comfortably on the plane (because I fly internationally twice every three weeks...ughhh) Be comfortable being in photos with my kids and my friends and other family Be able to look in the mirror and smile!
  12. today is day one of my pre surgery diet. I just downloaded an app for my phone to keep track of my progress. I think having that in front of my face all day will be a good reminder to stay on track. The app includes BMI, BMR, Body fat and hip to waist ratio. It also allows me to graph everything out as well as set weight goals. For me to reach my goal weight exactly one year from surgery I will need to lose 2.4 lbs a week. To me that seems very doable and realistic. And since every year seems to fly by so fast, for once I like the idea that one year from now will seem like no time at all. My first SG though is to get to BMI of 45 by surgery date, I'm at 46.6 right now. That means I need to lose 11.4 lbs. Fingers crossed. What are everyone else's goals?
  13. I found it was easy to book a date but I don't known out that particular week that you are looking at.
  14. Oh yeah and that was the other thing, it says no sugars but then it says juices, juice is full of sugar. Clearly, I just don't understand.
  15. So I'm supposed to be having the shakes as part of my pre-op diet? And protein bars, I thought just puréed foods?! I'm more confused now.
  16. I'm supposed to start my liquid diet tomorrow but I'm still sort of unclear on what I can and can't have. I've already emailed my coordinator twice but didn't want to ask a third time like a dummie. Because I have a high BMI (46) I have to do the liquid diet for two weeks, followed by the clear liquid for three days. The write up I got about the diet has parts that seem to be broken English. I don't know if I'm supposed to be eating puréed food the size of a baby food jar or actual baby food lol. I also have no idea how much I'm supposed to eat or not eat. It says rice, noodles, mashed potatoes, fruit etc. is that all puréed? I also don't know if I'm supposed to start the protein shakes and vitamins now or after surgery. Someone please help as I have to start tomorrow! Thanks in advance.
  17. I'll be having my surgery with Dr Kelly at Mi doctor on feb 22. Hope to meet some of you there!
  18. Ok it's official! My appointment is booked, my flight is booked, everything is a go! Surgery Feb 22 with Dr Kelly, staying at Lucerna hotel. Who else will be there?!?
  19. Hey everyone, I'm going to have surgery feb 22 worth Dr Kelly and would love to share this journey with others who will also be there that week. Anyone else scheduled around then??
  20. I was nervous about surgery before because I'd never had surgery but then at the beginning of Jan I had to have my gall bladder removed and I was all alone. It made me nervous but in the end everything was fine so this time I'm trying not to get worked up about it. Like you my husband has to stay home with our boys but I *might* have a friend coming, she's trying to make it happen. Either way I'm ok with it. I'm definitely ready to be "skinny" but I try not to get too exited about that either because I don't want to set unattainable goals or let myself down. I also want to try and remember this wont be easy because originally that was my mindset. It really will be awesome to meet you ladies though, I'm sure we have a lot of common experiences and emotions about our struggles.
  21. Oh really? But yes, we'll definitely meet up at the hospital. I'm still nervous about the transition to a new lifestyle but I'm excited to meet others who can relate.
  22. That's great! I am still in limbo between Garcia/Kelly/Ortiz but need to decide today. Are you going alone? We should be walking buddies at the hotel.
  23. Yes! What about you? When and where and with whom is your surgery?
  24. I'm planning for feb 22! Are you going to Mi doctor or oasis?
