Has anyone started to eat more since they've got there surgery date?
Arts137 replied to erics300's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmm, I guess I felt it would be too hard to make an abrupt seith from "old eating" to new eating. Someone (somewhere) said that it takes 4 days for your body to forget that you had "X" to eat... So I've been trying to be very controlled (protein only) for the three weeks before the two weeks of Optifast pre-surgical. Not right, not wrong... just what might work for me. -
Today is THE day!

A "last dance" moment... Three weeks out and working on control. My prob is and will be eating FAST and LOTS. -
I'll document somehow, unsure how to do You Tube, 'cause I am an "old f**t". One thought though... You are NOT depriving yourself of carbs and sweet tea. You just found out that those two have been CHEATING on YOU for years. HOW DARE THEY, after all the love you have given them! You are gonna throw those evil two outa your life after what they've done. I mean, fool me onece, shame on you but fool me Twice, shame on me!!! (and welcome)

Nah! Don't worry! Eggs are protein too! Rock on, I am 3 weeks behind you!

Cant keep down my meds HELP!
Arts137 replied to SabrinaM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you otherwise OK? If vomiting a lot you might get dehydrated which is not good. Call the surgeon or PCP. I have a 'melt under tongue" Protein pump inhibitor (PPI) (like pepcid). And they have alternatives for pain relief, all the way to suppositories... (PS, some pain relief things can make you nauseaus by themselves). Good Luck! -

Try this, tastes prety good (and no I am not paid to recomment Unjury!): http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/high-protein/mac-n-cheese/proteind-cheese-sauce you get a bunch of Protein and are still not eating "cheese"...

The longer they (insurance) can put you off, the longer they keep the money. And maybe you'll give up and save them ALL the money. You did right. Don't Give Up!

Meal replacement shakes?
Arts137 replied to need2bthin!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, can get UNJURY only from their website (I think). They are in Northern Virginia. I am in Delaware, and I get them the next day EVERY time (and I don't pay for rush shipping!). They have a sample pack I believe... -
Recently dx with sleep apnea
Arts137 replied to Phoenix79's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Newbie, there are a LOT of options. Sadly sleep Apnea is related to a lot of bad cardiac stuff, like heart attacks, congestive failure and strokes... sigh... But they have a bazillion things you can try and you may find something that WILL work despite today's panic! Me, I just say I'm a BORG (from Star Trek) and carry on! -

No longer invisible, and that's what I wanted, I thought ...
Arts137 replied to Globetrotter's topic in The Lounge
This is a great thread and thank you for starting it. In the end you will need to be who you are: I am friendly, I am open, I am an American-raised woman and I yes, happen to be pretty. And practice and your head will be the only way to deal with: If everyone wants to be considered beautiful, why does it hurt and leave you lonely? -
Piece of... well... cake. They will prep you (get into a gown, place an IV for fluids... You'll chat with the gas-passer... They will roll you into the OR... They'll ask if you are ready, and you'll open your eyes and say "when do we get going", and they'll say "we are all done". Great practice for the surgery

In a LOT of ways it's the same for guys. Massive Obesity makes you invisable. Or, put another way, all they see is 'fat person', and so you/I can hide what we really are. I don't have much else, but I am sure that flirting goes both ways. I am so lucky that I have a supportive wife and lover and friend (ummm, the same person, hehehe) and am SO HAPPY to be outa that game. You, friend are a hottie, and you WILL turn guys heads...
