Question about food changes
Arts137 replied to IpswichPav's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What Johnlatte said! The sleeve helps, but YOU must do. It's not impossible, but be open to "dealing" with your head issues -- and we ALL have them! -
Wanting won't hurt you, Having might, hehehe, just wait a little while!

Where did all this hunger come from?
Arts137 replied to kdnhk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, I am hungry only when I think about it. When I distract myself, the hunger goes away. But no cheesy scones for me, anyway!!! -
2 months Out&Standing Still
Arts137 replied to TiASleeves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know this is frustrating, but your body is just getting ready for the next drop! Please just keep on keeping on, and don't always believe the scale -- it lies, especially as your body works its magic. -
The BIG Book on the Gastric Sleeve!
Arts137 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's from when you begin to decide about ALL weight loss alternatives, through the decision to sleeve, all pre-op phases, surfery, recovery, and the post-op as you build your new life. THIS IS A GETTER and A KEEPER!!! -
worry not! The scales does not tell the whole story!

3 days post op with swollen stomach and gained 8 pounds
Arts137 replied to Paradise Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Frankenbelly is right. Ferel like the scene from Alien! AND plane rides help you retain water too. AND those hospital IVs fill you FULL of liquid. Follow the program and ignore the scale for a couple weeks. -
Great post. As if WE don't know we are obese. I am lucky that I have a beard, that is getting grey. When this happens I can quietly whisper "you want to be nice to Santa, Christmas is coming". BIG EYES are a great response!

The easy part might be over for me
Arts137 replied to NurseGrace's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
DO NOT STOP. Your body is a tricky bugger, but if you keep with your plan, the stall WILL pass!!! -
I had watery diarhhea at 3 days post up and in 2 weeks have had 2 small 'normal' BMs.
-
Yep, gas, and it will get better, but each of us is very different!
-
I am 63 and was sleeved on 6-4. Generally I have done well, so age is NOT a barrier! Sadly all the pre-op preps are needed so that the surgeon does not get surprised (in a bad way).
-
Just consider yourself lucky! Don't push it though, your tiny stomach will "snap" at you if you do!
-
OK June Bugs... Sleeved on 6-4 and have been amazed at my easy path. Little pain, no nausea, stopped pain RX after 5 days, up and about a lot. Am tired and I DO sleep a lot. BUT, last night I did not pay enough attention and had a 2 and 1/2 bout with the SLIMIES. I guarantee you that "once bitten twice shy", and I DO NOT want to go through that any more!!! Follow the plan and don't push it! Love & kumquats all.
-
You WILL get back to normal, but you CAN'T control the timing -- when. There is no sin to using your pain Rx, that what it's for. You'll kmow when to stop when the pain Rx feels worse than the symptoms you are trying to address with the pain Rx!
-
Good! I am taking Lovenox shots as well -- surprisingly easy to give yourself a shot, I am glad to say!

I'm still in the hospital. And I'm misarable
Arts137 replied to sprinkles13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are suffering for me, I guess. I've gotten off very easy. Never any nausea, heartburn. At 1&1/2 weeks out pain gone, Bowels and bladder working, and I can get in liquids and Protein. SO, I want YOU to catch up with me SOON! -
keep having feelings of regrets
Arts137 replied to toy27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

Boy everyone's program IS SO different! I was on pureed food as soon as released from hospital, but only do one pureed meal a day (rest with shakes, etc.

10 months out...94 lbs down PICTURES
Arts137 replied to Curvy Girl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Lovely and Great Work! -
Yep, we all do, I think. It's from all the IV fluid and (mostly) the CO2 gas added to your abdomen.I'm a week and a day out and it is better.

Lovely!!! Well done! -
Hehehe, I ain't racing... as a matter of fact I only weigh weekly to keep myself from going crazy. Pain's all gone, though I am still napping every day.

All I can say is we are all with you. Luckily I did not have nausea/vomiting, but I am so sorry you are having to go through this!
