Arts137 replied to huligoo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First, you'll be fine. Second, this is the job of a number of well-trained staff who will work hard to take care of you, and lastly... you'll be fine!!! -
7.5 months post-op and 83 lbs gone! (pic!)

Woo Hoo!!! -
Had no pain, maybe a little discomfort. Walking around the ward helps a lot. No Worries!

Not sure whats going on...
Arts137 replied to shellsheck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also suggest reading Laura-Ven again. If you eat to pain, and do it again KNOWING what's going to happen, you may be dealing with issues that the 'sleeve' cannot help with. People CAN 'defeat' the Gastric Sleeve. Those who do should not be surprised at the result (which does not include the expected weight loss). Please, please please work on the head issues. I want you to win!!! -
Well done to the both of you!

"Slider Food" is food that is easy to get in, compresses in the stomach, slides through fast to the small intestine and has no/little nutritional value. Take the bag of popcorn, grind it well in a food preocessor, add 1 TBS of Water and mix. That's really what you ate. Now here's the question. WHY eat popcorn? If this is just an every once in a while treat, maybe rarely 1/2 cup. Don't push this. Folks who eat slider foods tend to be the folks that regain weight, IMHO.

Did I ever. Days 3 and 4 post op I had a LOT of watery stools, but it got better and now I have a 'normal' bowel movement every 2 or 3 days.

What is considered a sip?
Arts137 replied to jennlhp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
your stomach will tell you. At first try teeeeenie sips constantly, but in my casr (two weeks out) I can take a fairly normal swallow with no pain. Don't plan on chugging anytime soon, and avoid carbonation! -

On Week 3 Post Op. Need some help!
Arts137 replied to hfdwife0608's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
No lecture? Oh shoot. If ONE trip to the vomit room did not convince you to get back with your program, what are our comments going to do? So, one question... you have been sleeved, what's your goal? -
Something wrong with this picture!
Arts137 replied to Cheer Mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, since you are sticking to your plan, you ARE a WINNER! -
This is great, and they all look different, but all beautiful nevertheless!

AND the site is NO fat and LOW calorie!

Even when you convert to the sleeve, you will still need to deal with head hunger. With the fact that you said that you are not hungry, I am not sure what an appetite surpressant is gonna do. Maybe it's time to take the bull (head hunger) by the horns and deal with it. HINT, if you can follow a strict plan for 4 days, it is usually easier after. GOOD LUCK!!!

What Courtoomp said!

WOO HOO!!!

Welllll, that's the "real" issue. Time to slowly start to learn to like some of the 'good' stuff. Popcorn and chips won't be the centerpieces of any of our food plans!

Today= a challenge

You will be able to have sushi! Maybe you'll get full sooner, but sushi is healthy food. -
Getting air out after bring freshly sleeved?
Arts137 replied to NewSetOfCurves's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
walk, walk, walk, and walk. -
In these first few weeks you might want to keep it 'simple'. A very complex recipe (if it does not make your sleeve happy) will be hard to 'figure out" the problem ingredient(s). Never fear, it WILL get better. Start with simple and basic food, and only add one thing at a time...

Don't be afraid of CPAP. I use it (now) and it is GREAT!!!

Every plan (insurance and medical) seems to be different. Think of it this way. You are starting to THINK about food in your life, and that is a FOREVER choice!

Well done. -
Standard metabolic panel -- to make sure cloride/potassium OK. Diabetes status, Liver status and lipid profile. All routine, you'll be getting this about a bazillion times between now and the end of your first post sleeve year.

I think im on a stall already
Arts137 replied to wpierce's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was sleeved on 6-4 and did not lose anything the first week. But I lost inches. Don't sweat it. Keep to your program and all will melt away!
